we know a thing or two, cause we've seen a thing or two

When Ike had first told him of her decision to seek out her father's pack he had only questioned her once to make sure she was certain. He had no qualms with following her wherever she decided to take them next now that she was back on her feet, but she had told him of the fall out that had happened with her sire and the resulting dismantling of her family back when he was still getting to know her and her life. He wanted to make sure she was confident in this choice and that she was ready to live side by side with her father again, but when she assured him that she was he set out with her to go to Auster without further questioning. His own family was scattered to the wind and perhaps lost to him for the rest of his life so if he could assist her in mending what was left of her own and give them a new home in turn then it was worth giving it a chance.
The trip to southern Auster was an uneventful one and soon enough they were at the fringes of a pack where a forest of bamboo stretched out ahead of them. He had no context to know when they arrived, but he trusted Ike's knowledge of her father's pack and to be able to recognize the man's scent so when she stopped and looked to him he gave her a reassuring smile with a nod. She called for her sire and Remus kept his place at Ike's side, shifting a bit closer with an instinctual protectiveness. He knew logically that there was no real danger here and that Ike was more than capable, but being in a new place and having so recently seen Ike in such a fragile emotional state he couldn't help but be protective of his wife in a moment like this. He kept his ruby and emerald gaze on the bamboo ahead of them, watching for any movement that could signal another's approach.
