The colors I've loved, they all become grey

Mayday was petrified, a shaking breath living her rattling body as she moved; practically stumbling with each step as her head swiveled, looking back and forth rapidly. Eyes wide as she makes sure that man hasn't followed her, tears sprung to her eyes again. For the first time in days, she had found her way out. Her way to escape from the bastard who had taken her from her home so soon after they were forced to leave, he had stolen her in the quiet of the night, muffling her screams as he dragged her away. His face was a distant blur in her mind, she did not spend much time face-to-face with him. Soon enough, she had been dragged to a cave, kept inside the burrow for days, or was it weeks, with barely any food or water. She was exhausted and malnourished and just wanted a hug, she had not gone so long without seeing her mother or talking to her father. And now everything was changing, and she was lost, and so scared.
Then, in what felt like an instant, she was tumbling through the underbrush, her paw had caught on something and she had lost her footing. With a series of umphs and ow's falling out of her mouth as she came to a rolling stop, standing up on weak limbs with an incredibly sore paw, she began to cry. Tears flowed down her face as she cried in silence, it was so dark, and she was so confused. She didn't know what direction to head to, and even if she did wind back up at what was her home, her family wouldn't be there anymore. Her form shook as she took in another staggering breath, panic, grief, and fear so strong it was visible. She just wanted to be safe.
