The Ooze - Variation 3

The sound of his raven companion cawing echoed ominously through the foggy woods, adding to the already quite sinister atmosphere of this place. Veigar moved slowly, his limbs carrying him meticulously through the forest, his head held low to the ground and swinging side to side as he made to scope out his surroundings- as much as he could without sight, of course. The fog was immediately obvious to him, even without vision to aid him. The air was chilly and heavy in a way it wasn't normally, the moisture filling his lungs as he inhaled a sharp breath and held it before releasing. The air, while refreshing, didn't quite calm the nerves; something about this place, its atmosphere, left him feeling more uneasy than usual.

The ground was difficult for him to traverse, with tree roots sprouting up in every direction he went. They tangled beneath his paws, mixing with the various mosses that coated their bark, making his paws slip toward solid ground. He was used to traveling carefully though, testing the ground before he put his weight down fully. He'd dealt with one too many slips and stumbles since going blind, he'd learned how to adapt.

It didn't help with the moisture in the air that made the dirt so much more slick. It seemed to soften, turning to mud in some spots. The fog was so thick that he very nearly felt condensation accumulating on his own coat. The uncertainty that hung heavy in the air made him feel even more on edge than usual. A soft breeze that whisked by made a shiver run down his spine. The temperatures were beginning to plummet as is, and the misty air didn't help the chill that seemed to seep down into his very core. His head lowered further, nostrils flaring wide as he tried to get a better sense of his surroundings, without much success.

Another sound from above alerted Veigar to the presence of someone. His raven companion was dutiful, for reasons Veigar couldn't quite comprehend, always alerting him to anything out of the ordinary. Wherever this threat was, though, it didn't seem the raven could pinpoint. Another sharp inhale told him the thick fog was growing thicker as he delved further into the forest. Perhaps it would let up soon, but for now he had a feeling he was about to be disoriented for quite some time. Maybe if he was lucky, he'd be able to figure out the way he came and head back.

The fog obscured his sense of smell almost completely. He didn't know anyone else was nearby until he ran practically head first into them- and then he instinctively reeled backwards and tried to steady himself.

Veigar is completely blind; his eyes are a hazy shade of pale yellow, though he tries his best to hide this fact.
His saliva also glows a faint shade of neon green since the Ooze event.
