Maybe they should have been cautious though for now Novella would enjoy the lack of such worries. Stress could bring all those emotions soaring back, they had no way to know that though the suspicion would have surely arose if they thought about it. But the depression wasn't lingering in her head now, the festivities and the cheer that lay ahead were far more interesting thoughts for her mind had certainly been too down lately.

Frith would protest their return, these moments alone could be rather rare and whilst it was a shame Novella wouldn't regret the path their life had led them down. She'd spend time with him whilst she could but the rest of the world called as well and at least they could face it together, especially with her hopefully feeling better now. "Are you sure?" She enquired, a playful accusing tone to her voice. "I don't believe we can leave that to chance. But perhaps a real patrol later when there is definitely someone to watch them."

He couldn't help but admire how care free she was able to be for their morning alone. He wouldn't quit playing in her fur as the moments passed, he'd take in her scent and be reminded at why he loved her so much. He was closer to her than any other wolf in the world and she meant more to him than his own life. As he gave his half hearted protest the answer he would receive was one he was expecting. She knew how unsure he was of the current guardianship of their brood, and here in a few moments they would have to return to the tiny bundles. Though later in the day it sounded like he had plenty of time with her to look forward to. They really would get someone else to look after their trouble making toddlers and spend some time patrolling the border. "Yes, you're probably right," He would add with mock disappointment. He loved his children with his whole heart, and knew very well that he had a responsibility to them. "How much longer should we take?" He'd ask as he trailed kissed from her scruff up to her delicate ears, his teeth parting to nibble at her lobe affectionately.

Of course Novella knew that he wouldn't really suggest they abandon their children if only for the day. He would feign disappointment in this revelation that they couldn't leave them alone for much longer and she would only smile, moving to lick him briefly upon the muzzle. "Cheer up. You'll be wanting them back to this stage before too long." She pointed out to him. Aslan, Varda and Herne had grown up so quickly she knew Fate and Luck were going to do the same as well. He would push his luck a little longer for some more solitude within their cave. "Probably not too much longer." Novella confessed, taking a glance once more to the amount of light within the cave now. "I think the sun may be up now, may not be long before they are."

He wouldn't see her amused smile as his features were buried within her fur, but he could hear it in her voice and that was enough. He wouldn't quit his little distracted affections, and would probably continue on through the time the returned to the den. He was quite content, but knew all to soon they'd be on their way back to real life. He enjoyed, far too much, being in her perfect presence. He felt an amazing relief that she was coming back to her old self. She was right about their little ones though. Fate and Luck wouldn't be this small for long and it was best to enjoy their youth while they could. They wouldn't have much longer to themselves either, the sun's rise obviously about finished as the cave was completely filled with bright colored rainbows. He'd sigh softly, knowing very well that their children were much more important than a moment alone. "You're probably very right," Frith would whisper, not skimping on the kisses especially as his intimate time with her was at its end. "I just don't want to stop kissing you."

A level head seemed to have returned to Novella's shoulders now as well. Those depressive thoughts had crept away and scurried back were those more protective ones of typical motherly worries. Leaving her children alone for too long was of course a concern even in the pack lands and whilst they could have happily stayed here for longer it was time to head back. "I'm afraid you'll have to." Novella reminded him softly, nudging him gently. "Come on, we'll walk slowly." It was as much of a consolation as she could offer, slipping free from his side after one last kiss and making her way back towards the tunnel.

She really was more like herself than he had seen her all season, the relief this caused him made knowing he had to stop kissing her easier. She would remind him gently that he had to stop, her nudge a physical reminder that interrupted his rhythm. She'd allow him only one more before she withdrew from his grasp, a soft promise on her lips that they would walk slowly on the way back. He'd offer her a pout as his paws followed after her, obviously distressed at the disappearance of her from his grasp. He'd whine, though the playfulness within it gave away his not-so-serious intentions as he nudged at her hips. He'd followed after her through the tunnel and out into the water. The coolness of the liquid on his legs was a stark contrast to the warming sun above them. Bicolored gaze would look up to the sky as the spray of the waterfall created a brilliant rainbow above the falls. He'd smile softly before catching up to his wife.

There was no further protest, only a silent pout though he would follow her all the same, even nudging her lightly as they made their way through the tunnel. The evening watches were far easier on the eyes when they finally emerged into the water once more, as the sun brighter now than when they had entered the tunnel took a moment to adjust to on this occasion. Though Summer was nearing an end it was still a bright and warm day, and a walk back through the water probably would be welcomed later on.

For now as promised she took a slow walk back, keeping close to Frith's side all the way. They'd had nothing to fear it seemed, arriving back to two sleeping figures curled up just how they had left them in the den. She would pause at the entrance, placing a kiss upon her mate's muzzle before disappearing inside. "Let's enjoy a quiet moment with them now for a while." She suggested, once more curling up in her previous spot beside the two children. They'd be awake soon, but for now she'd let them rest, quietly enjoying their peaceful slumber.
