She hadn't put too much thought into catching up to the group, but she knew it would already be hard enough for Cherokee to be able to catch something with out having to focus on two more wolves. Plus she wanted more time to herself with her long lost sibling. So when Novella offered the idea of hunting with a bigger group, Song had to decide against. "Though it would be fun to hunt with Cherokee, our most efficient course of action would be to just catch something for ourselves." She smiled at the prospect of having a real hunt with the girl. She seemed quite able to take care of herself, Song wondered how she was with a hunt.
She picked her head and ears up, now holding herself more proudly, excited about going on a hunting trip. "Just you and me, sister. Lets see what we can do."
She giggled as a plan of action began to form in her mind. She just wasn't sure what they wished to track down. Ludicael held a variety of different prey types, including seafood. Maybe they needed to reap the harvests of the ocean?

Clearly Novella hadn't really put too much thought into the idea either, just suddenly asking whether it could be a possibility before bothering to realise for herself it probably wasn't the best plan of action. "Though it would be fun to hunt with Cherokee, our most efficient course of action would be to just catch something for ourselves." Song however was apparently a little quicker to realise this and with the fact sinking in, she was glad to have agreed to a hunt for the two of them as well.

"Just you and me, sister. Lets see what we can do." The comment brought a little chuckle from Novella as well as she looked to her sister with a smile. "Lead the way again." She stated, knowing full well they stood more chance of a successful hunt with Song's knowledge of the area. Whilst Novella was confident she would have found something eventually, Song could of course quickly take them to a good area and hopefully mean they'd waste less time searching. Whilst it appeared they could have a bit of a wait until Cherokee and the pups returned, Novella certainly didn't want to use up too much of it and leave them waiting for Song again. This could be a little continuation of the tour as well she supposed.

Novella seemed eager to follow her older sister's lead, Song knew it was because she knew the land better. The young she wolf was clearly able to fend for herself, it just might have taken a bit more time than if Song were leading. It was about time for the time to start pulling away from the coastline. Just perfect to find fish and other sea creatures stuck in the tide pools. Perfect opportunity. "Lead the way again." Song would nod and smile, ready to continue their tour as well as get some food. "I think I'll show you the ocean. The tide should be subsiding, we can scour the tide pools. Easy pickings." a wicked grin would cross her maw.
She wasn't usually an opportunist, she preferred to always use hunting as an opportunity to hone her skills, but today was a bit different. She didn't want Cherokee and the pups waiting on her for a second time that day. Her paws found their way easily across the rough terrain as she pushed her way towards the beach. "We're almost there." She smiled back happily to the following she wolf.

Off they began to move again, Song confidently leading the way and explaining her plan of action "I think I'll show you the ocean. The tide should be subsiding, we can scour the tide pools. Easy pickings." As the older female was perhaps aware the ocean wasn't an entirely familiar thing to Novella. Ahlon and its surrounding areas hadn't been close to a sea, she had of course had small encounters on her travels, and although intriguing she hadn't spent too much time searching for food, certainly a little put off by the saltiness of the water, as such she wasn't exactly educated about tides or tide pools and the slightly thoughtful expression on her face perhaps suggested her confused state. She remained silent though, eager to learn this little bit of information by experience rather than question too much.

Although not entirely sure where they were actually going, that strange smell of the coastal air strongly hit her nose, already informing Novella that they must have been nearing the ocean now, Song of course confirming this fact for her. "We're almost there." Now Novella watched as the beach came into view, now attempting to figure out just what Song had meant when she'd spoken of the tide and its pools.

The beach was gorgeous, mangrove trees spilled out into the water and birds flew over head. She stepped out from under the protection of the canopy the smell of salt heavy in the breeze. She felt the wind gently caress her ivory fur as they made their way down to where she could see open pools. Her eyes grew wide in excitement, she could already see creatures that had become trapped by the now very much receded water. She positioned her head above the first she came to and was surprised at her luck.
Swimming frantically in the pool was a decent sized fish, it would swim tantalizingly before her. A smile would crawl upon her features as she looked back to her sister, "This is what I mean by an easy hunt, instead of having the whole ocean to escape to the fish are trapped in these tiny pools." She looked back towards the water, lowering her head level with the water. She'd watch the fish patiently, waiting for him to come close enough for her to wrap her jaws around his flesh. With just a bit more waiting the perfect opportunity would arise and her face would be violently shot into the water. Pearly teeth would find scale as she pulled her head back and moved away from the pool. Success.

Song fortunately either didn't pick up on her lack of knowledge or either chose not to make any comment upon the matter as the two sisters continued down to the beach. Whichever it was, Novella was happy by the outcome and simply peered into the first pool that they came to a stop at. "This is what I mean by an easy hunt, instead of having the whole ocean to escape to the fish are trapped in these tiny pools." Song had finally given a little explanation, though it still certainly didn't make Novella feel entirely uneducated and she simply watched the various creatures in the current pool and glanced around to the surrounding ones as well, amazed by the large number of them, the young wolf certainly hadn't seen anything like this before.

No longer caring about what tides were and certainly having some idea as to what the tide pools meant, Novella shifted from Song's side, leaving her to the fish in that particular pool whilst she searched for her own. The task certainly wasn't too difficult with the number of pools suddenly she found herself amazed as a rock grew legs and began to move and for a moment forgot all about looking for fish. "What's this thing?" Old enough to know it surely couldn't be an actual rock, Novella now walked around the edge of the little pool, following the funny creature as it travelled around shallow water.

Novella didn't seem unsure of herself, from what Song could tell her minimal amount of direction was sufficient. She would keep the fish in her mouth and quickly trot to a more shady outcropping, placing her fish out of the way of the sun. Her gaze was brought back to the younger she wolf as she searched for her own buffet. Song's paws would take her back to the pools, as she looked for another fish herself.
"What's this thing?" Her attention was once again placed on her companion as the words reached her pale ears. She swung her head around to see a crab sidestepping Novella's curious gaze. Song felt a small giggle escape her lips as she approached Novella and the creature. "It's called a crab. If you're careful of the pinsers you can eat them. Though the legs are really the only good part to them." She looked at the creature as it attempted to escape them.

As Song approached, Novella glanced up at her sister briefly and then back to the strange creature. "It's called a crab. If you're careful of the pinsers you can eat them. Though the legs are really the only good part to them." Now that it had been mentioned, Novella noticed the pincers that Song had spoken of. They didn't look too dangerous, it was only a tiny little thing after all but with the warning she wasn't too keen to try her luck. Song hadn't filled her with confidence that it was worth it and she didn't think it looked all that tasty, having mistaken it momentarily for a rock. "I think I'll leave it." She commented, slowly moving her gaze from the crab and looking through the rest of the little pool.

The next movement that caught her eye was something that looked far more edible. The fish wasn't quite as big in size as the one Song had caught a few moments ago though still worth catching. Glancing back to the crab to make sure it wasn't too close, Novella then lowered her head ready watching the fish carefully for a few moments before closing that small distance to wrap her jaws around the struggling creature. Not quite the smoothest of catches, she pulled her head free, teeth clutching the end of the fish. Adjusting her grip a little, she then travelled over to the shade where Song's catch had been dropped before moving back to the pools to continue searching.

The pretty she wolf would look upon the crab with disdain, obvious that she was slightly turned off by the thought of making the creature her meal. Song couldn't help but utter a giggle at her sisters words, I think I'll leave it." Her attention would be placed back on the contents of the pool. Song would keep an eye on the younger wolf, curious how this fishing expedition would pan out. She caught a glimpse of wolf over water, Novella had spotted a fish and it was the moment of truth. With a movement as quick as Song's the fish was encased in pearly jaws.
With an excited tail wag she would watch as it was added to their growing pile of fish, "Good job! You're a quick learner." She nodded in approval before she let herself fall back into her hunting state of mind. Maybe another fish or two and they'd have plenty to fill their bellies. "Just a couple more and we'll be set for a fine meal!"

Hunting in general was something that the young wolf needed to work on, she had certainly found that the far more experienced wolves made it look far easier than it actually was. She had speed on her side though, and her parents had certainly given her tip or two as she practised. She had certainly gotten better over the course of her journey though, the time alone not exactly given her much of a choice; she had to catch something or go hungry. "Good job! You're a quick learner." For those reasons Song's compliment certainly pleased her, her tail giving a little happy wag as she made her way back to the pools.

"Just a couple more and we'll be set for a fine meal!" Determined to catch a bigger fish this time if she could, Novella ignored the first fish she came across for it was a little smaller in size than even her previous catch. Instead she moved along to the next, mismatched gaze searching as she continued to walk around a few of the pools stopping when she found a fish that was a more satisfying size. Pausing now, she lowered her head once more, repeating her actions a little smoother this time as she pulled the fish clear from the water. Song had certainly been right, the little tide pools were far easier than fishing elsewhere.

Song had attained quite a bit of practice hunting the time she had spent alone after leaving Ahlon. The pretty white she wolf would beam proudly at her similar looking sister, her tail wagging as she tried to concentrate on her own catches. Attention pulled back towards the containers of water she would peer into the depths eagerly, her jaws ached for the fish flesh. She could hear her sister faintly in the background as her search for another individual took place. Her eyes fell on one that seemed a bit smaller than her first, but it was certainly worthy of eating. She positioned herself over the water once again, her moment of triumph quicker than she had expected.
Pulling her chest from over the edge she would turn once again to the shaded fish holding zone. A smile of victory painted across her features as her paws carried her to the spot. She would tilt her head as she searched for the form of her sister as the filet fell from her mouth. Now that the both of them were equipped with two fish each, a meal seemed in order. "Ready to eat?"

Now turning away from the pools again, Novella made her way back towards the little pile of fish in the shade. Song it seemed too had gotten another successful catch, already back there waiting. "Ready to eat?" Came the question as the younger of the sister's neared their meal. No answer was given immediately however, knowing full well any speech would be terribly muffled by the fish she still carried in her mouth.

"OK." She responded after dropping her second catch with the rest. "Will we go back to the den or eat here?" She questioned, confident that now the fish were still it'd be far easier to carry two at once back to the den, not that it probably would have taken them too long to eat the fish here and then return. They still had no way of knowing if Cherokee had returned after all.

Her sister would approach with prize in tow, the fresh fish would dangle tantalizingly from her jaws. Song couldn't help but display the excited expression on her face, Novella had picked up on tide pool hunting rather quickly. Their meal was displayed gloriously before them as their next plan of action was voiced. "Will we go back to the den or eat here?" Song's head would lower as she thought of their options, maybe it would be best to eat first. Though if the pups were back by the time they reached the den she could share some of her sea food with them. A decision was made as the thoughts flowed through her mind. "Let's go back and see if the family has returned. I feel as though fish bones could be a good plaything for the babies." She lowered her head to the ground, readying her jaws for the meal that she would carry home. With a slight flick of her tail she would take the fish in her jaws and head back the way they came, sure Novella was following her.

ooc: How odd, just checked and it's fine for me. But sure, another thread is ok with me.

Novella of course hadn't really considered her earlier idea of trying to hunt with Cherokee, and now to be honest she hadn't thought much upon this suggestion either. Both options were perfectly fine to be honest, not sure whether Cherokee would be back for this little hunting trip had certainly ended rather swiftly. Song however was considering the options in silence for now. "Let's go back and see if the family has returned. I feel as though fish bones could be a good plaything for the babies." She stated after a short pause before picking up two of the fish. "OK" She responded simply, mimicking her sister's actions and collecting the remaining fish before walking along side Song once again.
