After the adrenaline from his fight faded, Charlie had made his meal and worked on severing a large chunk of the boar. It would be a shame to let the rest of the carcass turn to carrion for other predators but it wasn’t like he could carry the whole thing back on his own… He was with Silveris but the shrike could only carry so much. But she had taken the opportunity to feed on some of the meat that Charlie had shredded for her. He was proud that the only injury he had sustained was the cut to his muzzle. It stung, but he was sure he could get it looked at once they were at home. Maybe Crux could take a look? But before he would go searching for his brother, he wanted to find Isa again.
The last time he had met the older she-wolf she had helped him learn how to cook meat and prepare it in a tastier manner. The meat he had brought back was truthfully for her. Her company had been pleasant and he hoped that maybe their next meeting could be just as enjoyable. As he approached the spot where he had seen Isa cooking the last time he slowed. The fire wasn’t lit, so she wasn’t cooking… he probably should have asked her which den she used in case he needed to find her… His ears would flick back slightly as he moved beside one of the rocks and set the large chunk of meat down. He licked his jaws… they were a bit sore from carrying it the distance he had, but with a bit of rest they would be fine. The cut hurt worse than his jaws anyway.
Blue gaze would sweep the area as Silveris took to the skies to help track down the one Charlie sought.

While the rest of the pack had been away dealing with the raid, Isa had been collecting herbs for cooking. She'd scrounged up some fresh basil, celery, thyme and a few root vegetables that she carried back in a rather heavy bag slung around her neck. The fae chewed on a fresh mint leaf as she made her way back towards her den. It was nice to have sparkly teeth and clean breath, she thought.
Ice blue eyes rested upon the boy that she'd taught to cook. A huge chunk of meat rested next to him. "Charlton," She greeted the boy as she drew in near, tail swishing happily back and forth. Isa dipped her nose towards the slab of meat. "Do you need help getting that to the stores?" Kind eyes smiled as she waited for him to answer.

Charlie furrowed his brow and pondered if he should check the food stores. He had known that Isa liked to cook but… did she have have any other hobbies? Hmm… maybe he should have stuck around to talk with her more after they had finished cooking the last time. He twitched his tail in thought, and then heard Silveris trying to get his attention. He would turn his head to see Isa’s approach, a greeting falling from her lips as she approached. He turned to face her, his tail wagging lightly behind him as he dipped his head toward her. “Isa! It’s good to see you again.”
Silveris would call to him again, a sound that let him know she was going off on her own, and the boy would give his companion a nod before returning his gaze back to the blue femme before him. “Oh.. Well uh… this is actually for you.” He hadn’t thought about just how much meat he had brought back, or the fact that it would be a lot for one wolf. Looking at her small frame now and the slab he’d brought back he realized he might have overestimated the size of the gift for one wolf. He felt heat touch his cheeks and he shuffled on his forepaws.
“I wanted to thank you for your lessons last time. I really enjoyed them.” He motioned towards the meat. “It’s wild boar. My companion Silveris and I took it down. I thought it’d be a nice gift.” Charlie looked back at the older woman, hoping she’d appreciate the gesture.

Charlie admitted that the hunk of meat was for her and warmth engulfed the woman's heart. A paw rose and settled over Isa's chest. "Thank you so much for thinking of me, young man." Not quite able to contain herself, Isa moved forward and pulled the boy into an embrace. She squeezed him tightly before letting go. Behind her, the fae's blue tail swished thoughtfully.
Icy eyes shot the boy a mischievous look and Isa grinned. "Would you like to help me cook this? We can surprise your family with dinner." Not sure that she could move such a huge slab of meat, Isa motioned for Charlie to grab it and follow her to the area just outside of the food stores. It was where she had a large firepit and a massive stone cauldron. "We'll make a lovely stew. What do you say?"

The gift made her happy, and a gentle light in his eyes as he gave a nod to her. “Of course.” Kindness bred kindness, and just as Isa had been kind enough to share food with him, and prepare more for the pack, he wanted to do the same. But true to her nature, Isa brought up surprising his family with dinner. Charlie couldn’t blame her, it was admittedly a lot of food for just one wolf, but he hadn’t really thought about that. His heart was in the gift, not much more planning than that. But getting the chance to help Isa cook again sounded like a wonderful plan. He gave an eager nod. “I’d be happy to.” Her company was so warm, and she guided him in a skill he hadn’t really considered he’d enjoy. But he had, and learning more about it would be welcome.
Picking up the slab of meat he carried it to a new area, setting the pork down on a rock to be prepped before being added to the stone cauldron. “Stew sounds great! Really warms you up from the inside. How should we begin? Should I begin getting the meat into smaller chunks or…?” He wasn’t really sure how you went about making stew, but he knew the pieces of food in it would need to be smaller. His gaze rested on Isa, waiting for her instruction as his tail slowly wagged back and forth at his heels.
