Kaizen wasn't sure how he felt about the strangers in Tojo territory. Naturally, Hattori was okay with it or else they would have been cast out a while ago, but it still rubbed the pup the wrong way. They hadn't tried to step inside the bamboo and wisely too, but they were still too close for his comfort. Home was where his family was, folks he was comfortable to just have around and not have to worry what they were up to. He was sheltered and liked it that way, if Tojo as a concept didn't work, then why had they lasted so long?

He pushed north into the Oaks, following the scent trail of the newcomers, those who didn't belong. Little did he know Tenshi had lived here for a time, that she was even from the same homeland as his sire. Same, but different. And the scent trails he found reflected that, rock and stone, almost a taste of bitter cold clung to their coats. He wrinkled his nose, expression smushing into a not quite grimace. The trees were crowded here, but still there was more open space than what he was used to, the tree branches long and reaching as the sky above shifted darker. Rain clouds settled in again, it rained so often it was easy for him to think the world was always like this, grey and dull, the ground churned mud.

She preferred the constant chill the mountain brought. Down here, in these oaks, it was nearly stifling. Warmer than her home, damper, full of water. It felt as if she were breathing under water sometimes. As if her coat was always slightly coated in dew drops. Unsure of what to think and ready to go home, Lumine sat in front of a fire, wishing she would dry enough to not feel so sticky. Was it so much to ask to go home already? Why were they even there? Dad had arrived back from the raid already so it wasn't like they were waiting for him...

Then there's a sound. A sound of a paw squishing into the muddy ground. Churning soggy dirt as clouds rolled in from the east. Her head turns, fur bristling, eyes widening. Seeing the other pup, basically the same age as her, standing on the outskirts of their camp, she can't help the quiet growl that rumbles in her chest. Who was he thinking he could just show up here!

Coming to stand, Lumine faces him, head tilting to the side, ears back slightly, she takes a few steps toward him. "Who're you?" She quips, her teeth flashing briefly as she comes to a stop a few from him, placed particularly in front of the camp so he can't look directly at anyone else who might be around.

Kaizen's eyes narrowed as the girl approached; she seemed strangely territorial for a wolf who clearly was not kin. Honestly, her hostile reaction was baffling, his long tail stiffening at the sight of her bared teeth. A sign of aggression he instinctively recognised, even if he couldn't fathom why she was reacting this way. As if the roles were reversed and he'd ventured too deep into her home, her territory. His shoulders hunched, muscles tensing- maybe she wasn't part of the group who'd been allowed to stay. Maybe she'd slipped in unnoticed.

He didn't say anything, just barrelled forward, aiming to use the momentum to take her unawares and shove her aside.

His lack of words is concerning. Why was he even here if it were not to visit? Her brow furrows, lips rising further, her teeth flashing in the light of the afternoon. Hunching her shoulders and ruffling her scruff, she isn't entirely surprised when he came barreling toward her. Why? Because she was planning on doing the same thing. Maybe he would be more convinced into talking if she could pummel him into the ground!

Meeting him head on, her paws push her forward to almost match his momentum. Taking the full impact of the slightly larger boy, Lumine stumbles to the side. A whine escapes her, but she doesn't take long to retaliate. Reaching out to help correct her balance, she aims to grab onto his scruff.

Kaizen grimaced as her teeth connected with the scruff of his neck. It hurt, a sharp pinch, her grip not quite enough to tear at skin but it felt close. Far too close for comfort. Grumbling in frustration, he surged forward, shoving into her again in an attempt to drive her back. On instinct, he knew if he tried to pull away it'd hurt more, he just wanted her to let go and he intended to push and ram into her till she did so. The first strike was with his shoulder, muscled tensed as he pushed out and up, aiming at the little exposed area of her throat.

Her teeth grab onto more fur than skin, she can tell because there's no flavor of copper in her mouth. She can hear him grumble though as she tries to steady herself, unwilling to let go of her position. Just when she thought he would pull away, he didn't. Instead, his shoulder drives up into her chest, practically in her throat. Reflexively releasing her grip on his scruff, Lumine lets out a yelp as tears prickle around the edges of her eyes. Instead of giving up and crying to an elder, it only further frustrates her. Letting out a growl, she lunges back to try and place her muzzle over his in a move of dominance.

Shoving her over, Kaizen exhaled sharply, panting slightly as he stared down at her, not entirely sure what to do now that he'd bested the girl. Call for reinforcements? He was a good boy and abided the rules as any good Hattori should, but at the same time this was a matter he'd dealt with. On his own, with no help needed. He felt an aching desire, or maybe his scruff just hurt from where she'd bitten him, to handle it himself. To prove that he could and was wholly capable of whatever tasks be set before him. Their sire hadn't even uttered a whisper of who would inherit Tojo one day, but should the mantle be passed onto him, he wanted to be ready for it.

"You shouldn't be here." He tried to sound firm, mimic that air of seriousness that Hattori pulled off so flawlessly, staring down at her with his "three" eyes. More like two and a bit really. "Stop acting like you should."

Her teeth catch air, clacking together loudly. Instead of a show of dominance, she was being pushed over. One moment, she's lunging for the boy, and the next she's sliding against the dirt and leaf covered floor. Closing her eyes to shield from the dust, a reactive and instinctual whine leaves as her body finally comes to still. Laying there, recovering from the fight, she opens an eye to see the boy looming over her. His words bite into her. Didn't he know who she was and why she was here? Her brow furrows, eyes narrowing as she gets up to her paws and gives her coat a shake. "My mother, Tenshi, is a friend of Hattori's and she brought us down here to visit so excuse you, I very much should be here," Lumine's lips lift into a snarl, her fur bristling as she turns to face the boy. Unlike who she wished to be, there was still time to learn how to keep her composure. For now, standing there, covered in dirt and slobber, it was clear how upset she was. LUMINE TRYGG
