Coran admired the girl's resourcefulness, the way she used her horn and paws to maneuver the reeds and create the basket. "I usually bait it with worms for some added draw, but it isn't entirely necessary. When startled the fish will naturally look for places to swim in and hide. My plan right now is to set the basket then go splashing and making noise on the opposite end of the lake to scare the fish to the other end. Let's see if we can find a good place to place it. Not too shallow and not too deep."

Coran gently tied an extra reed onto the basket, followed up by another reed to make something like a rope. "This will make it easier to fetch and make sure it doesn't drift too far away." He took the basket in his teeth and trotted into the lake, going out until the water covered his chest. Holding his breath he carefully dipped the basket and his head into the water, setting the basket down before swimming back with the other end of the reeds. Once on shore he died it to a nearby sapling on the waters edge. "Ready to scare some fish?"

She took note of how he would normally bait it, storing that info away for later. "Wonder if it would also work to place them in the water and wait overnight with bait set. Bet we could catch some crayfish or crabs too." it was more of an off hand comment than a question. She was a smart kid so she was more than capable of teaching her wolves how to craft these baskets and maybe they could craft enough for trade goods. It would definitely be a unique item for them to trade.

He explained the process more and she gave a nod. Scaring fish seemed easy enough. The he asked her if she was ready to scare some and she gave him a grin before bounding a few steps and play bowing at him. "Born ready!" she gave him a grin before starting to run for the other end of the water, waiting for his signal to get in the water to scare the fish.

Coran nodded as Bellatrix wondered if it could be baited and left overnight. Coran nodded eagerly. "Yes, I have done that method before and it works great. Also avoids expending any excess energy swimming. That said, when the weather is nice like this its hard to resist going for a dip!" With a cheerful bark he raced to the other end of the lake then took a flying leap into the water. He landed with a loud splash and began paddling happily through the water, his tail waving like a banner as he swam until he got deeper in. He could dimly see flickers of silver in the water, fish swimming away from where he swam.

After a good swim Coran wandered back onto shore and shook out his coat, sending water flying everywhere. "Ok, let's see how we did." He grabbed the reed rope and reeled in the basket up to the reeds. He then went in and retrieved it, untying the smaller basket and pulling it out. He made sure to keep the large basket tipped up to keep the fish from flopping out. Peering inside he saw a number of bluegill. "Success!"
