Oleander was determined to prove his worth and practice his skills. Basilisk gave him a task, provide the Armada salves for the incoming Battle. He was in the Col by the kitchen and had set up a system of various pots and bowls. Next to him was a large chunk of beeswax, lard, and some st. John's wort oil from the summer.

Before him was a pot over the fire and a clay bowl in the center of it. He filled the pot with some water but not enough to overflow into the bowl.

He would be delighted if anyone came by to chat while he worked. Salve making was simple enough and he wanted to get better acquainted with everyone in the Armada. What better way to work than to have someone to chat with while you did?

Tethys Fatalis
There were so many Fatalis within the Armada that Tethys didn't know well. It was unfortunate, not knowing all members of her family well, but it wasn't surprising given how prolific the Fatalis line was. Still she recognized them, and this particular boy was unmistakable - he looked almost exactly like his mother, Halo. She'd been wandering the communal areas beneath the mountain when she came across the working yearling.

Slowing, she decided stopping for a chat and getting to know him a bit better wasn't a bad idea. Unclenching her jaw, she moved closer to where he was beginning to work on something, noting the ingredients near him. "Oleander, isn't it?" Tethys asked in lieu of a greeting, interest glimmering in her eyes as she took a few steps closer to the yearling to see what he was doing.

The white wolf placed a chunk of the beeswax into the dry bowl while the water simmered around it, careful not to mix the two. He looked up and saw one of his family members approach him, seemingly curious! Excellent! Company!

"Hello!" He greeted warmly, as he placed the lard into the softened beeswax. "It is I! The boy who lived! I seem to have misplaced your name, Cousin... Terra?" He could almost grasp it in the fogginess of his childhood illness, trying to focus on those memories was always hard for him. It wasn't until last season that he had finally shaken off the last vestiges of his weakness and came out into the party of social life.

He mixed the wax, and fat together and slowly added the warm floral red oil to the mix. The salves would be a good supporter for any burns, bites, bruises, scrapes, and small wounds out in the field. "How have the goats been treating you?" He asked playfully, he didn't know much about Tethys but he wondered what the lingering scent of Goat was telling him about her.

Tethys Fatalis
Tethys forced a smile, wanting to appear friendly... not for any nefarious reason, just because she knew she'd be more well-received that way and she intended on making a good impression on this cousin she hadn't gotten to know yet. She knew really wasn't the most expressive of wolves, and she knew her demeanor could be taken the wrong way sometimes.

"I'm glad you're doing well now," she said, her tone genuine, remembering that he'd been stricken with illness for much of his young life. It seemed he was faring well now, though he was still quite scrawny in comparison to some of the Armada. "Tethys - Aris is my mother," Tethys explained, not bothered that he hadn't quite gotten her name right.

Eyes narrowing curiously as she watched him mixing some concoction, the question earned a rare laugh. "Can't say I'm a big fan of them. A newer member - a slave, I guess - asked me to help capture a breeding pair so figured I'd help." Proving she was a good teammate felt important to her. Capable and helpful. Not that she was overly so, but she truly did have Armada's best interests in mind and she'd prove it tenfold without complaint. "What are you making?" Moving closer, she sunk down to her haunches, still studying what Oleander was doing.

"Thank you!" He replied to his wellness check. He was working hard to catch up to his brother and sister in skills and was eager to get some meat on his bones, though it had been proven difficult since his metabolism seemed to be stuck on voracious.

"Tethys! Good! I'll remember that now, thank you." He chuckled as she mentioned a slave grabbing some goats., "Oh is that where they came from? Was she a little gal, white with ginger and gold? Yeah, that's Ignita, she's Bas's personal songbird. Have you thought of getting one? A songbird of your own to take out on hunts with you? They seem useful if you can get one loyal like her." He'd been thinking about getting his own Songbird slave.

While he spoke he was mixing the wax and oils carefully until they melted and mixed evenly, stirring with one of the blacksmith's old spoons. Where had Charlie gone anyway? He laid out several small tin containers of various size, all carefully cleaned and disinfected.

"I'm making some salves for our warriors! With the raid soon we need to be prepared! These will quicken the healing process and keep the wounds clear of debris as they heal up. It'll be great for when you're on hunts too if you get into a scrape while you're out." He said as he laid out the tins and stirred the mixture. Then he grabbed the handle with his teeth and carefully portioned out the hot liquid into each tin.

"There! They'll be solid enough to be easy to transport but soft enough to dig into when they're all cured." He said as he stepped back.

"You gonna be in the next raid?" He asked as he started putting some of the extra supplies back in a basket to carry back to the healer's hut, leaving the tins out to cool.

Tethys Fatalis
Family was one of the most important things in life. That value had been instilled in her since birth and she clung tightly to it, finding it comforting to be surrounded by kin. It'd do her good to get to know some of her more distant family members though, even if talking to others was often hard for her. At least she was comforted by knowing they all, hopefully, had some sense of loyalty to her - it made interacting a little easier, for some reason.

She nodded to his question, asking if the wolf was Ignita. "Yeah, her. And I'm not sure - I guess I've never thought about it." Having a slave of her own sounded like it could be useful, but at the same time intensely stressful. Ignita had an intense air about her that Tethys feared would sap her of energy a little too quickly... but maybe having someone to help her might not be such a bad thing. "Though I'm not sure I'd want to be around another wolf so often. Those two seem attached at the hip now."

Tethys studied what he was doing still, watching the way the ingredients melted together. Oleander explained he was making salves for the warriors. "Smart," she commented, not really knowing enough to know whether he was actually being smart or not, but it sounded like it to her. He put the ingredients into some easy-to-transport containers.

He asked about the raid and she gave a slow shrug. "Maybe the next one. I don't feel quite.. strong enough yet," Tethys confessed. The truth was that she was quite hard on herself, and she wouldn't take failure as an option. She feared jumping into a raid and making a fool of herself. "I think I'll be ready next time. With some training. What about you? Have you done any fight training yet?"
