Wylan had expressed an interest in painting when he had discovered the painting den Basilisk had put aside for her. Ignita had offered to teach him, and turn it into a class in the market for anyone else that wanted to join. Hey, that just meant the possibility of meeting more people, right?
He was eager to help set up, and was there early, putting parchment on tables, though he hadn’t touched Ignita’s paint, letting her decide what to bring. Once he’d set out some spaces on lying tables, and some pillows for wolves to lie on while they paint, he stood back. Waiting for Ignita to enter.

Ignita had spent the better part of the last few days preparing supplies to introduce the ways of painting to students. She made several paintbrushes and divvied up small pallets of paint enough for each student. She walked into the classroom with a confident and eager air, waving her tail and half-mooning her eyes at Wylan as a happy greeting with her mouth full.
She worked on setting each station with a paintbrush a small pallet of paint, and a short tub of water.
"You set these up! Thank you!" She said to Wylan as she worked. He was always so helpful and warm. When all was said and done she walked out to the market area and called out: "Art lesson! Learn to use color to paint!" Then she would lead her students into the classroom and wait for them to file in.
When they were all settled she started the lesson.
"Hello! I'm Ignita, Steward of Armada. At each station, you'll find a parchment, a paintbrush, some paints, and a well of water. We'll be experimenting with each color and how the items work together!"
She went to her own station in front of all the others.
"Lets pick up the paintbrush, and dip it in some water. Pick a color and see how much water it takes to wet the paint. Feel free to try out the paint on the paper and see how it works!" She demonstrated each step as she went along. Then waited as her student experimented nd asked questions.

Another lesson to attend. She wasn’t sure why they had bothered to make her go to these things. Did she really need these skills? She didn’t buy Oleander's story for one moment. That slaves got educated and worked their way up through the ranks. That smelled like bullshit to her.
She crept slowly and carefully into the room, and sank grateful down onto one of the pillows laid out by the tables. Painting. That was… that was for Ladies. Not slaves. Had she entered the wrong class? Well, she was here now, and she wasn’t moving. Besides, those colors were really pretty… she’d never had something pretty before.
She carefully picked up the paintbrush, and got to work wetting paint. She picked blue, and wiped it haphazardly across the paper.

She'd began to haunt the Armada marketplace, waiting for the next class to be announced. While there was so much to do and see, she found herself becoming more accustomed to the hustle and bustle of things around here. Although it was so different from home, she felt more experienced now. The bonfire festival had ignited a passion in her for exploration that she hadn't really felt before. Finch was daydreaming when Ignita poked her head out and called out for students to attend a painting class. With her ears pricked, she followed the professor back to the classroom and settled down at a place where everyone had room to spread out. "Hi, Wylan!" she said, a little bit less shy this time. Finch shot a grin to the quiet female that she recognized from the previous class as well.
"Hmmm... where to start," she murmured, paralyzed by choice. Finch licked her lips and surveyed the options. After a moment, she picked the sunny yellow color and gently applied water to the dried before water. The palette drunk it up greedily and it took a moment until the product was workable. When she finally applied it to the paper, it was thin and watery. She waited a moment for it to dry and applied more color in the same area, hoping to build up opacity.

Oh! Wylan was excited to sit down. He grinned at Finch, and at the Armada wolf that settled in at the lesson as well. He was ready to begin, and surveyed his paints when Ignita spoke of starting. He looked at the little, shy wolf and a grin bubbled free. Look at how well she had found herself! Leading a lesson. He was happy for her.
With some inspiration from Ignita, he grabbed for the yellow paint and dipped his brush in it. Spreading it in an arch across his page. In the shape of a rainbow. He glanced over at Ignita, wondering how he would even begin to draw her. He’d never tried before, and didn’t know where to start.

She was glad they were all listening well to her!
"Excellent! Now before selecting a new color, rinse your brush in the water, just swirl it about for a few seconds, and then select your new color. It can be anything. Try out a few strokes on the page by itself, but then-" And she paused for effect, hoping to enrapture her students in the surprise that had brought her so much delight at first, "Then! see what happens when you cross one color over the first on your page!" She said, wagging her tail in excitement. She had loved her lesson with berry paint making with Gem, but these were a different paint, these had gums and minerals and pigment powders involved! They were bright and vibrant, blue, yellow, and pinkish red.
She hoped they would be surprised by what they were about to experience as she had.

Vesper looked up as the teacher spoke, tilting her head and listening to the instructions. She had introduced herself as steward, and Vesper really wasn’t sure what sort of position that was in a pack. High enough to give her grief if she didn’t obey her word to a letter? She was too tired to cause much of a fuss anyway. Just the effort of getting here had been a lot for the injured wolf.
She kept her sharp tongue to herself, and instead dipped her paintbrush in the red next, spreading it across her blue. Oh! That was unexpected, it turned purple anywhere the blue and red interacted. Hmm. How many more colours could they make?

He put a couple little arches over his rainbow, like ears and had to fight back a grin. Turning Ignita into a rainbow probably wasn’t what he was here to learn. He put his paintbrush down, and then picked it back up again as she explained to swirl it in the water. He did, letting the pain bleed out of the brush.
He picked another color, this time going for blue. It wasn’t a color that Ignita boosted, but he only had three choices in front of him. Ignita wasn’t red or blue, so his options for her next task weren’t anything he could pick with her in mind. He brushed the blue over the yellow and - oh! A green came out. Oh!

Finch hmmm'd and took her time to thoroughly rinse her brush before selecting a new color. The yellow had been vibrant but thin and it had taken quite a while to build up the opacity she had wanted. By the time it got there, the paper was wrinkled and wet. She experimented with using a bit less water this time and dipped the end of the brush into the deep, moody blue color. She swiped the brush gently on top of the edge of the yellow shape she'd made on the page and was delighted when it turned an herbaceous green. As green as the grass on the Range at the height of spring! "This is fascinating!" She said to the teacher, peeking over at what Wylan was working on as she did so.

Ignita beamed with joy as each student discovered the color magic!
"Good good! Now the best part! See how many colors you can make! See what happens when you mix two colors, then add just a touch or even more of a third color!" Ignita's tail was wagging back and forth with excitement as each student discovered this magic.
"Then, whenever you feel comfortable with the colors, feel free to go wild on your papers! I'll hand out more for you!" She said and then brought out several reams of paper. She walked by their workstations, giving them each more paper to experiment with
