in all the chaos of the last month - a cure for the blight being found, Bas calling them home, Spider meeting their new siblings - they’d practically rushed out of Hemlock with little more than a goodbye. but now that things have calmed down a little (read: the brats have been unleashed on the Col) Spider returns to Hemlock’s border and calls for their two best friends, a basket clutched between their teeth. nestled in its woven depths are a selection of meats, a few bottles of wine, and a handful of grapes. in short, a gift basket. really, Spider just wants to express their gratitude to Strai and Delphi for sheltering them the past season - and to update them on the state of things. Strai had been, understandably, a bit worried about them last time, and Spider wants to assure both Hemlock wolves that they’re in…well, a bit of a better place. less distraught, at least, which they have their friends to thank for.

Delphi had indeed worried for Spider when they had rushed home with little word as a good bye. Thankfully, Delphi was quite busy being leader of the pack and all that she had only been given a moment to worry for their friend. Though she knew Strai worried more and rightfully so, Delphi would always try her best to calm his concerns. As long as Spider made it back to the Armada in one piece, they had nothing to fear.

When Spider's voice rang out from the border, Delphi's ears perked up and her expression changed from sleepy to excited. Snuggled up to Strai in their den, she slips from his embrace, giving her coat a shake, and grabs a bundle of meat to give Spider after their long returning journey. "C'mon sleepy head, no sense keeping them waiting," Delphi jumps over to tug on Strai's tail, a look of mischief on her face as she rushes out the door.

Racing to the border, Delphi skids to a stop before embracing Spider in a tight hug. Placing the bundle of smoked meat on the ground, she sees the gift basket Spider has brought along. "That isn't for us, is it?" She inquires with a raised brow.
