Having agreed to take the boy back to his home, Scylla and Citadel walked side by side towards the Col, chattering and conversing the whole way. He was a cute child and his demeanor was pleasant. She'd never thought of herself as the child-rearing type, but seeing young wolves like Citadel, Bancha and Hanataro... it made the woman consider.

Nearing the border of the Col, the dainty slate colored lady released a summoning howl before moving into Armada lands. She'd heard that the market place was open to everyone, after all, so she made her way towards it. Perhaps there was something there that might catch her eye.

"Scylla"

Citadel was sulking. He'd begged the lady not to tell his parents, but the Alpha had escorted him back to the border. howling at the line so that there would be no hiding what he'd done. He squirmed, anticipating a lot of yelling in his future. It was going to be a lot harder to have a little freedom and a little fun now.


To his utter surprise, once howling to announce the rule-breaking kid, she walked into the market. Leaving him to face the fallout alone. That was the last time he trusted an adult! He scampered after her, determined to let her face the yelling too. Since it was going to be her fault he was in trouble.

A call near the market was unexpected, and took him away from the ocean. His bird had last seen Citadel swimming before the boy had vanished from the avian's keen eyes. Scouring the beach with an increasing dose of adrenaline the longer the boy was missing.


He almost ignored the howler, but some sixth sense warned him not to. He left his companions continuing the search, and trotted up the beach with speed. Heading to the entrance closer to the ocean, and finding the scent of Citadel near the entrance. He trotted inside, and found the boy with a small blue wolf, who wasn't much bigger than the puppy. “Thank you. Did you find him?” He asked the woman as he came to a stop before them.

Oooo, the boy was mad, but Scylla wouldn't be tattling on him too much. As the duo stood within the market area, she gave him a little reassuring pat. Soon her summons was answered and the brute was a big boy. No bigger than Nero, but still a big boy.

The giant man didn't give his name, but he did thank her. "It seems as though Citadel had a little issue with the current pushing him away. We found each other and took the long way back. No harm done." Scylla brushed the situation away as though it were no big deal. The pup was home, unharmed and he'd learned a lesson. Surely that was enough.

"I am Scylla Klein, Sovereign of Obscura. Fancy market you have." An introduction and a compliment. She was playing nice.

Luckily for Citadel, Basilisk missed the sigh of relief the boy made when Scylla kept the story short and sweet. Skipping over a few details, and emphasised a lack of wrongdoing. His dad pressed a paw gently against his cheek, pushing his head one way and them the other as he looked him over for injury. Clearly finding none, he turned his attention back to the woman who had brought him home.


“I see, thanks for letting me know. I see a lesson in tides and swimming will be in his future.” He glanced at the pup, and then back again. “I'm Basilisk Fatalis, the leader here. If anything for sale catches your eye, let me know. A reward for bringing the boy back safe and sound.” He wasn't familiar with the name of her pack
