The sun had fallen, though light still hung on the edge of the horizon, refusing to fully die and give way to the blissful evenings that he loved. The smell of salt invaded his nose before he had even reached the sand, and, much to his surprise, this beach lacked the creams and browns that one was said to find. His first beach bore sands of black, and as Neptune took a step into it he realized that sand didn’t just look different, but how it moved and shifted under his hooves was different too. His hoof didn’t sink terribly far into it, but it was still an odd sensation all the same. Deep pools of silver lifted to the stretch of sand and, further along the beach he saw the motion of a predator on the move. This one was different, though. Neppy lifted a brow, curiosities keeping him from running away. Instead he walked in the direction of the wolf, not moving closer yet seeming to run parallel with it, gaze focused on the stranger in wonder. What in the name of the heavens were on its legs…?

Fortune favored him that night. The blue and red predator that watched him seemed as equally curious about him as he had been about it. Their gazes sizing one another up before a question, no, an invitation. Amusement filled the stallion as he quirked a brow. “Faster than a good number of predators who’ve tried to eat me, at least.” His lips pulled into a smile, ears swiveled toward the wolf-like creature. “I haven’t had too many races otherwise, though it can be enjoyable to run.” With a flick of his head, he nodded over his shoulder down the shoreline. “Name your land marker. We can see who gets there first.” He turned so that he was facing the same way as the stranger. If it was a race he wanted, it would be a race he’d get.
Mental health (particularly depression and anxiety) is extremely bad. Currently unable to handle IC conflict or conflict between characters, pack related or individual. I am struggling to post even simple things and will not be able to continue with thread if approached. Sorry for the inconvenience but I just can't right now.
