find a reason to smile everyday

After yesterday the young woman could actually see and not squint her eyes almost shut to see. Everything was so different. So very different. Happiness flooded within her heart. Maybe it's just what Fairytale needed. The grounds below her paws were gorgeous many shades of emeralds with some tawny areas marking were dirt would be. She could see! That's all that mattered to her. The prairie was a wide open space spanned out before her eyes. Truly a sight to see. Even with the showers that once in a while spattered out from the skies. Little sun showers, which had cooled the ground under her paws off.

Pink pools looking out over the scenery, little field flowers sprouting up soaking in the sun and the rain. Fairytales tail danced behind her excitedly, ears forwards as listening intently to the different sounds all around her. The pronghorns calling out for one another. While a few hares watched Fairytale carefully, wondering if she was truly a threat to them. A giggle erupted from her. The sun was climbing higher and higher in the sky above, large puffy clouds hanging high. She was truly excited, but was that the word to use? Who knows, she didn't care as she threw herself onto the grasses, pawing for the skies, trying to catch some of the large white clouds before rolling onto her side, eyes once more scanning the territory.

It's too hot. It's too fucking hot, especially for a boy with this much coat. Björn⁢ was made for the cold north winters, and he understood now why his family spent so much time sequestered on the mountain during the hottest time of the year. Hell, even Auster's winter was too warm and humid for him. The snow didn't hang around for long, and the farther from his father the boy could get, the better. Running to the Hallows and hiding the once-king away... right. It's for the best. Erik had the right idea, making sure that their father couldn't harm anyone like he'd harmed Björn⁢, but still.

Sun high in the sky, beating down on his back. Fucking hell, there's no respite from it. Relentless, but then, that's something Björn⁢ understands. Breaking onto the Prairie at a pace that more resembles a slog than a walk, there's not much shade to speak of. Some scrub trees around the edges, but mostly low brush. A strange sound meets him, right in the ear... giggling? Who the fuck is giggling at him?

Sharp gaze scanning the landscape once more, he catches her. It seemed like the giggling wasn't directed at him, thank fuck. It was about time for a rest anyway, may as well take in the scenery or some shit. Gaze sliding to the girl, Björn⁢ makes a solitary remark. "How the hell does anyone cope with this heat?" Neutral enough, even if his attitude is rancid. Par for the course for the rot prince.

find a reason to smile everyday

It was a little late that the adolescent took notice to another approaching. As she was just enjoying some time within the prairie. As the sound reached her ears, they twisted and she rolled from her side, fixing her glasses that mounted her cranium allowing her to see the larger wolf. And honestly, she got startled. Jumping back a inch or so as the female got to her paws. Fairytale hasn't meant anyone outside of Judilia and honestly you could see the nervousness form within her pink eyes.

What if he hurts me? He looks moody. Maybe I could help him? Allowing the thoughts to cross her mind she dip her head down in respect, as words formed. "You have antlers as big as myself!" Sure, maybe it wasn't the best thing, but she never seen any wolf with antlers. "Do they shed like a deer would?" Fairytale was allowing her curiosity to form even more. Although she was at a safe distance away, she started walking towards him. "I'm Fairytale, but my friends call me Fairy." Offering a genuine smile.

Sure he was a frightening sight to the girl, but if he meant to harm her, he surely could have already. Right? "Do you know these lands well? Or want to explore them with me? Maybe we can find a bite to eat?"

Browbeaten by the heat, there's hardly a tree in sight. The Prairie spreads out in every direction, grasses still-- no sign of a friendly breeze. He dwells on it long and hard, nerves frayed from the relentless weather. How did anyone live like this? Perhaps it's in Björn's nature to bitch about it. He doesn't like any part of it, the warmth soaking him without reprieve. How did anyone live like this, actually? How did anyone enjoy this.

The area is rich with prey, at least. He can smell them, though they're somewhere far out of sight. A gentle roll in the land would keep them safe for now. Not that he'd drag himself up to hunt them, at least not until the sun slipped beyond the horizon. Observing the landscape with a critical eye, of course no pack had settled here. No shade. In the winter, nothing to stop the drifting of snow, Björn could imagine.

Right, there's still a girl here. She's watching him with curious eyes, and oh-- a question. "Nah, stay sharp all year." He's gruff, her incessant cheer weighing on his heat addled mind. Fairytale, she's called. "Björn." It seemed she really did want to have a conversation, though the rot prince doesn't consider himself friendly.

"No. I'm from the mountains, in the north." Though, not so much, anymore. Was Björn from anywhere, these days? Things were different now, but he supposed he's still from there. A lot had changed in his year and a half, but those weren't things that mattered anymore. He was trying not to let them matter. "It's too hot to hunt, but I suppose we can go looking for some shade." With a grumble, Björn climbed back to his feet once more. If he's going to suffer with cheerful company, then he supposed they can go looking for somewhere a bit less oppressive. "Are you familiar with the area?" Manners. He'd remember his manners, or at least try.

It took the brute moments to reply before he truly did. She watched the large brute with interest. He was different, and his antlers were a wonder that his own head got too heavy to lift. His gruff voice reaching her waiting ears. "It's very unique, I like them." Fairytale offered a smile to Björn. Another unique name for such unique features. The yearling lass looked towards the masculine and then towards the lands that laid out before them both.

Was life north different than here were they both were located? His fur appeared to be thick so possibly much different, but however the girl was not about to ask out. "It's a pleasure to meet you Björn." He didn't seem too mean right now, but the girl didn't want to test the waters, for she known as nice as someone could be they could also be just as mean.

"Is it much different up north than here?" It was a bit too hot too hunt, as he offered they go find some shade. "Shade sounds like a pleasantry doesn't it?" Maybe the male was growing too hot from the heat... "I'm learning the lands as I go, but I did see a small gathering of trees over there beyond that first wave of hills." She gave a sweep of her tail. Hoping it wouldn't be too far of a travel for the larger male.
