She knew that any day now, the pups would come. Her belly was round and her joints were aching from the weight of them, and had a feeling in the back of her mind that it could be any day now. And that day was today. She was on patrol when the first wave of contractions hit, stopping her in her tracks. She whined for a moment as she waited for it to pass. Considering she was so close to having her pups, Umbra was nearby as usual. Her shadow cat had not left her side during her entire pregnancy, and so when the first signs of labor began, she helped support Medusa back to the den in the Gorge. Once she got Medusa settled upon the fresh, soft furs and made sure The Wraith was comfortable, she felt it was time to go and fetch Erebos. "Breathe Medusa, I will be right back with him. I know he will want to be present for this. You've done this twice before, you know what to do. And we will be here to help you should you need it." he ran into umbra, her face pensive with words coming out that he'd never forget. 'medusa, she is ready to birth. go now.' he took no time and bolted past her then, galloping heavily through the gorge to meet his pregnant wife in her den upon many pelts. his gaze was critical, landing on his wife's face with a look of concern. he met her with a slow halt, his ears flattening down to his skull as he went into the spacious den to greet her. his pink tongue coming to clean her face and provide soothe. "I'm here love, I'm here." he studied months for this day, coming to sit before her now as his herbal satchel was flung off his back.

"Has your water broken?" his eyes looked about, expecting to see soused pelts. or was he early enough?

It was only a few short minutes when Érebos came into her den with Umbra right behind him. She leaned into his touch as he kissed her, dual tones gaze grateful that this time, she had more than just her faithful companions by her side. His question drew a momentary blank look before she realized. "Yes, on the way here," Another wave of contractions hit, but she managed to breathe through them. She was used to all sorts of pain, but this was often different than the usual against others in a fight or a hunt. She didn't know how many pups she'd have this time around, but so far each litter was bigger than the last. With the care of those around her, however, she knew she was in good hands.
