Show me how you care,

Lea had been making her way through the prairie watching the bison in the distance, they seemed not to deem her a threat since she was alone. Which was pretty fair in her mind, she walked without a worry in the world. For a moment that was. Until she heard soft growling coming from behind her, her ears flicked back as a result. Assuming that whatever it was, was probably more interested in the prey animals around than her. As she turned to see what it was she realized with disdain it was a pack of coyotes that were VERY interested in her.

She tucked her head and her ears pinned as she looked them down, they were wrong to assume she was easy to prey on. She lunged towards the biggest one, if she took out the biggest one perhaps they would not be so inclined to attack her. A snarl ripped through her throat as she landed a bit on its shoulder before pulling back, snarling a warning. Instead of backing off the coyotes grew more aggressive attempting to nip at her back legs.

Back out to the Prairie, at least there's plenty of snacks hanging around. Davey's gait is easy, rolling with the pitch of the land. Taking it in, with all he's got. Autumn had come, the grasses were getting pretty dry. Seemed like a fire hazard, if you asked him. Taking to exploring, it's actually not too bad. Just. You know. Definite fire hazard out here, one rogue spark and whoosh. But Davey shouldn't dwell too much on that.

The distinctive yip and yap of coyotes isn't far off. Shit, why does it feel like it never is? Hackles up, hoisting his axe from over his shoulder, Davey locks in. Dialing in on the sound, taking off at a wild lope. He'd be getting to his adult height soon, and his legs were already long. Getting the coyotes in his line of sight, they're already focusing on someone else.

Fuck yeah. Good time for a sneak attack. Putting his flank to good use, the boy hits the spring on his axe and lets loose the flail. Lashing out with the weapon, dealing a crushing blow right across the hip of the nearest one. Handy little fucker, his weapon was. Super, super handy.

Show me how you care,

Lea's eyes momentarily found the form of another yearling. At least she thought they were, as they came in and immediately started dealing damage. She offered them a quick bow of her head before turning on the closest coyote. A feral snarl ripped through her pretty face as she opened her jaws wide and crushed them around the throat of the closest coyote, not enough to kill but enough to leave lasting damage. She shook it once, twice, and then dropped the now fleeing coyote.

Then she looked to the rest, growling out her warning as she charged them. A dangerous gleam took over her usually entirely sweet demeanor.

The girl at the heart of things is a soft brown, and a complete stranger. She'd acknowledged him, so Davey shoots as big a grin as he can muster around his axe. Almost charming, for a split second. The boy is wild, animated, and absolutely unhinged. Shoulders rolling forward, Davey really puts his back into it. The axe is a part of him, the head on the chain moving relatively gracefully. Clearly, it's not his first rodeo.

Knocking the cleaved carcass of the first coyote free, Davey fixated on the next. Two down, was that two to go? He can't count, not when there's a bunch of yipping and red mist surrounding the world around him. Frankly, Davey is having the best time.

Show me how you care,

Two more, and then they'd be done. That wasn't horrible. Leora was on the next coyote, jaw agape as she sought to grab ahold of them and then fling them into a rather large stone near her. But the coyote fought, teeth grazing her shoulder which earned a growl rumbling out from her full maw. She clamped down upon them as it tried to tear through her fluffy pelt, but they did not succeed. Leora shook it around and then spat out the now clearly injured coyote which promptly fled. It must have realized it was in over its head.

She stomped in its direction a few times as if to say stay gone!! And then she turned her head to watch the other wolf, she knew he had this so she did not rush in to help him. Only offering a proud smile and a yip in excitement.

With only one coyote left, Davey closes in. Bristling, making himself look as fearsome and as large as possible, he lunges forward with his flail once more. It's vicious, well and truly vicious. Unhinged and bordering on obscene, coated in gore, and enjoying himself way too much. Face, chest, all of him dripping filth. It's fantastic, terrible, wonderful, all at once.

The last of the coyotes sundered by his axe, messily down the midsection, fell limply to the ground. Shaking it out, watching the gore drip to the dirt beneath, Davey turns to grin at his companion. "Well done." Setting his axe back down, he takes a moment to introduce himself. "Davey, by the way." Chest out, expression pure confidence.
