Seasonal Skill Prompts

Skill Prompts are a monthly feature that allow your character to gain skills in different ways. Each character can only complete ONE prompt per season, and can be completed either in a solo post or in a group thread. You cannot claim these posts for other skill points! Please note that as long as you complete the objectives, you're free to be creative with your posts and have some fun with these prompts!

For solo posts, you must complete the entire prompt in one post. Of course, you can use these posts as thread starters and continue the thread as usual, but no other skills may be claimed by you from that thread.

For group threads, the word count is cumulative and will be counted over all participants. However, participants must be ACTIVELY trying to complete the skill prompt for their words to count. Note that group threads have a maximum of 3 allowed participants unless otherwise specified.

Fall, Year 14 Seasonal Skill Prompts

Fighting

Down and Dirty!: Now that the previous season taught you all about getting down and dirty, let's put it into action. These aren't just friendly spars, folks: let's get into a real fight this time.

Goal: Get into a real fight, not a practice spar. Don't just call someone at the Battlefield to fight. These fights need to be authentic. Get angry, and let's fight!
Word Count: 1500 (Group Only)
Location: Anywhere
Tasks:

1. Get into a fight. Doesn't matter how serious, but needs to be a real fight. Maybe someone looked at you the wrong way? Maybe they tried making advances on one of your family members? Get creative!
2. See the fight through to the end!
3. If you make it a maim fight for 10 extra skill points, make sure the maim is executed!

Reward: 30 Fighting Skill Points, +10 if maim fight

Hunting

Operation Sting: Hunting isn't always about taking down big, strong prey animals. Sometimes you might get tangled up in something a little more.. sticky.

Goal: Investigate a beehive.
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Anywhere
Tasks:

1. Stumble across a beehive... or maybe you're seeking it out on purpose.
2. Figure out whether the hive is active or not.
3. What do you do with it? Jostle it to see what comes out? Maybe you're trying to get a taste of the honey inside?
4. Show the result of your inspection. Does a wild swarm of bees chase you away?

Reward: 30 Hunting Skill Points

Healing

Project Regrowth: The lands are almost back to normal, but a little help surely won't hurt.

Goal: Do some planting! Not for the sake of your pack, family, or immediate group - plant some trees or flowers in unclaimed territories. Let's make Ardent great again!
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Anywhere
Tasks:

1. Notice the state of a land (not a pack territory, or anywhere your character considers "home". How has it changed since the volcano's eruption?
2. Plant something to help aid in the regrowth! Are you trying to grow trees, planting herbs, growing food, or simply planting flowers?

Reward: 30 Healing Skill Points

Navigation

Safe or Not?: Mount Volkan seems to have calmed, and it's time now to explore this deadly beast up close.

Goal: Visit Mount Volkan and see how its eruption shaped the volcano itself.
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Mount Volkan
Tasks:

1. Head out to Mount Volkan, and consider bringing a friend along for the journey.
2. Explore the volcano, but be cautious..
3. What do you find? Have wolves perished on these slopes? How has the landscape changed since the eruption?

Reward: 30 Navigation Skill Points

Intellect

Objection!: What better way to hash out difference than to have a friendly debate?

Goal: Debate something, however serious or silly!
Word Count: 1500 (Group, 2 character limit)
Location: Anywhere
Tasks:

1. Debate something with another character! It can be something serious, or something silly.
2. Keep it civil. Don't forget: this is a friendly debate, not a fight!
3. Is there a clear winner?

Reward: 30 Intellect Skill Points

BONUS PROMPT : FIGHTING / INTELLECT

Only one bonus prompt per PLAYER allowed each season.
Getting Crafty: GROUP ONLY. As worries of the volcano fade, and the environment seems less a looming threat, it's time again to focus on a different threat: other wolves!

Goal: Craft a fighting accessory (whether offensive or defensive) for you, or another character!
Word Count: 2500 (2 wolves); 3500 (3 wolves): 4500 (4 wolves)
Location: Anywhere
Tasks:

1. Brainstorm a fighting accessory (offensive or defensive) to craft.
2. Gather the materials and get to work.
3. Admire your work, and discuss how it will be used in fights.

Reward: 30 Skill Points Fighting & 30 Points in Intellect
