Corbin had been learning to accept his world being one encased in darkness where everything was made up of sound, scent, touch, and taste alone.  The world had sent him upside down again when the day came his eyes started showing him shadows and then they became colors and eventually solid shapes.  The day he’d opened his eyes and made out the forms and faces of his family had been wonderful!

Somewhere in the passing of time, he had also grown, along with his other siblings.  Corbin had missed the meeting but Dad had updated him on the details which included Haydee being the acknowledged heir.  How about that!  Haydee as future alpha?  It was time to tell his sister how proud Corbin was of her.

Rocky followed behind Corbin as he followed Haydee’s scent.  When he spotted his sister Corbin picked up speed and went charging t her.  “Prove yourself, future heir!”  It was a mock challenge with barely withheld laughter.  A haughty playful grin on his face as he aimed toward her.  His days of fighting like a sheep had come and gone, except for fun laughs at points with his sheep but now he had plans to actually slam into her.  It didn’t technically haaaave to be a fight.  She could stop it if she waaaanted to.

The meeting had been filled with information and Haydée’s head is still spinning at the fact she was named Heir of Ethne. Since that day, the girl has felt like she is riding on cloud nine and nothing can seem to be able to bring her down. She has begun to pick up patrols for the pack and slowly is getting to know more of the members; all things, she believes, a good leader should do. That is where Corbin finds her, out tracing the now well know path around the falls, when he bounds up to her. A smile splits her maw at the sight of him and the girl’s tail begins to wag fiercely.

Corbin had been sightless for so many months and, now that his vision has returned, he seems to have re-found his joy for life. However, he does not slow as he charges toward her and he lays a challenge down while he goes. Eyes sparkle with unvoiced mirth as she stops, setting her stance quickly as he barrels down on her. At the last possible moment, Hay sidesteps, allowing him to brush by her while she extents a leg into his path in an attempt to trip her taller brother. At the same time, she happily chirps, “Watch your step, Corbin!”

Memories of the headbutt challenge still swirl in her mind and, while she had won the fight, they both had suffered headaches for several days afterward. Hopefully, her dark marked sibling won’t do that again.
