Basilisk felt a lot more comfortable going to this border than others he had been to. Kotori had done some training with him while he was younger, and while he could be intimidating at times, he rather liked his Uncle. He took a deep breath, wondering if this visit would be just as empty as his last few. Well, only one way to find out…


He raised his head and let out a long howl, calling for Kotori, or any authority in Valta, even if he would prefer it to be his Uncle. Once his howl faded out, he sat politely at the border and waited for someone to show. Someone, somewhere, had to have seen sign of his father. Right?


"Speech"

Bas?  Kotori had been in the middle of a conversation with Fang, the glowing mongoose, about his recent antics but it seemed it would be put off for a bit.  Well, it was one-sided anyway as Fang was just giving him a flat stare.
Kotori spotted Bas near the border and jogged up to him.  Kotori smiled at the boy, giving a nod in acknowledgment.  The horned wolf still moved with confidence but perhaps a bit less arrogance in his demeanor at the moment.  Life was going good after all.

“Bas,” cheerily greeted, “What brings you to Valta.”  He tilted his head back behind him, further in pack land, “you are of course welcome to enter if you wish, or is there something you have need of?”

"Kotori"

Ah, it was Kotori who would be answering. The Heir felt himself relaxing ever so slightly as his Uncle trotted into view. He sent an awkward smile out to the older wolf. Verging on anxious, and a hint of uncertainty. Worried for his father, and not entirely comfortable with the house calls he was making. But he would do whatever he had to, to find his dad.

“Thank you Ko, it’s been a while, and…” Had Kotori always been that short? He swore he remembered the other wolf being taller than him. But then, his last few growth spurts had been agony, and now it seemed he would never meet a wolf taller than him again. But, not to be distracted. “My father has gone missing. Have you seen any signs of him? Heard anything?” He asked, worry bleeding into his tone.


"Speech"

Up close the kid was huge, he’d even outgrown dad and well, all the family by a landslide. Well, he had griped of growing pains and this was obviously why.  Was Azure proud of his giant child?  He was big into power and this boy surely had size on his side to plow through others.

“He’s missing?” Kotori imagined Azure and his hatred of the pirates last he had seen his brother.  “It’s been several seasons since I last saw him.  What happened?  Did you just decide he’s been gone too long or did something happen?” Trying to help the boy's worries Ko added, "Now, don't worry about him overly, Az can take care of himself.  He'd probably be irritated if someone thought he might have bitten off more than he could chew."  It was said in jest, though it could be true.
