Sirius heard about the change in leadership of Valta, but not the circumstances that surrounded it. Worried for his son, he left Keahi and Hazel in charge of the Armada and made his way down to the pack Kotori had claimed. The old Abaven territory was much changed these days, and he found himself reflecting on the past as the old wolf came to a halt at the borders.

Raising his head, he let out a call for Asla. Having heard that his eldest daughter now held leadership here. He wasn’t entirely sure of the validity of his information, but there was nothing for it but to wait and see. Standing at attention, the old Warlord let his eyes roam over the plains, watching to see who would approach.


"Speech"

So busy was she with caring for the pack that it didn't even cross Asla's mind that her father might not know of the goings on. Not that he needed to be informed, it simply would have been a kind gesture on her part or Kotori's part. Her father would understand though. Running a pack was time consuming. When his call came at the border, she wasn't surprised.

After leaving her kill at the stores for Indy to put away, the blonde fae made her way to the border, arriving promptly. One grey toed paw raised, motioning her father over the border. "No need to call. You're always welcome here," Asla informed him. With Sirius beside her, Asla began leading him deeper into Valta territory. "Is something wrong or is this just a social visit?"

"Aslatiel"

The approaching wolf was his daughter, and he relaxed a little at the sight of her. She didn’t look concerned, as she no doubt would have been if things had been wrong with Kotori. Asla beckoned him over, and didn’t stop. So he fell into a light trott and made his way to her side.

“I heard about the change in leadership, I came to make sure that Kotori was alright, and that you had everything you needed” He explained. His love and affection for his children was not a new thing, and while both Asla and Kotori were capable wolves, it was a parents prerogative to ensure their children were okay.


"Speech"

As her father fell into step beside her, he explained the nature of his visit. It seemed that everyone had heard that she was now alpha of Valta. A chuckle left the fae and she gave a little shrug. "Our sweet Kotori found a woman." Amethyst eyes cut to the side to gauge her father's reaction. "A koi noblewoman straight from her homeland." She made sure to add the koi part in there. Asla still wasn't sure what to think about the koi. She obviously didn't care for Hanako. "So Kotori has taken his woman on a little walking holiday. I get to care for Valta in the meantime."

As for his second question... "Valta is thriving. Several new members, no trouble on the horizon, decent neighbors." She looked to the giant man beside her. "So you don't need to worry. I'm good at leading, you know." Or at least he should know. She'd taken care of the Armada for a time, which was where all of the sour feelings in young Aslatiel had begun.

"Aslatiel"

He was surprised to hear that Kotori had found someone. He knew that Ko had been interested in one of Venom’s children at one point, which hadn’t worked out. He was glad to hear that his son had found someone - and of course, wondered when he might get a chance to meet her. “Ahh, so it’s about a girl” He said to Asla, voice teasing. She didn’t sound worried, so this woman must have received her stamp of approval already. He trusted her opinion.

“I know you are, sweetheart. But it’s a father's prerogative to worry about their children, and help them find all the tools they need to thrive. No matter how old you become, you’ll always be my child.” He told her, reaching out a paw to her, a question.


"Speech"

The humor in her father's tone was obvious and Asla chuckled. "Yes, it's about a girl," she confirmed. Kotori seemed quite taken with the patchwork fae and so, when he asked to leave, Asla had quickly agreed. It would do her little brother good to see more of the world. She had no doubt that it would make him a better leader.

Sirius reached a paw out to her and Aslatiel's ears flicked backwards for a moment. She wasn't a child anymore, but he was right. She would always be his child. Asla ignored the outstretched paw completely. Instead she came forward and pulled her giant father into an embrace. She had forgiven their past differences. None of it mattered anymore anyway.

"Earth" & "Stars"

Asla glanced at his paw, and for a moment he thought she would ignore his offer of an embrace. But, to his delight, she accepted. Stepping closer to him and pulling him into a hug. He crouched down on the earth, and wrapped his own paws about her. Holding the smaller girl tightly to him. Sometimes he couldn’t believe how old she was becoming. All of her litter. They had been adults for years, with histories and experiences of their own. But he would always remember those first days of their lives. Of exiting the family den, and exploring the world for the first time. He loved them, his love for them was something he didn’t even know how to put into words.

He kissed her ear, and smiled. “I’ve missed you, Asla.” He said softly.

"Speech"

Sirius embraced her in turn and spoke after kissing her ear. The tawny fae chuckled, pulling back enough so that she could grin up at her sire. The scars on one side of her face crinkled with the action. color=#9f7cf0]"I'm not easy to get rid of."[/color] He may have missed her, but she was always available. He knew where she was now. She would remain here unless Kotori decided to disband the pack, then... she wasn't sure what she'd do.

Releasing her father from the embrace, she beckoned for him to walk with her once more. color=#9f7cf0]"How are things in the Armada? How's your new lady friend?"[/color] He'd told her of Is...abelle? Israel? He'd told her of the woman prior, but they'd been interrupted by other business. The small fae was curious as to whether or not her father was still focused on the woman or if she had been a passing fling.
