it was her third Winter and still she wasn’t used to how bitter and unforgivingly cold the outside world could become. snow seemed to cling to her every hair, weighing her down and seeping a bone-deep chill into her pelt. winds picked up at a moment’s notice and slapped her soundly across the face, throwing icy granules into her eyes. and worst of all? the nights. as a loner, Dulla usually tucked herself into whatever alcove or tree hollow she could find - which was just fine in the warmer months, but during winter made it near-impossible for her to get any proper sleep. as soon as she started to drift off, the temperature would seem to drop another ten-thousand degrees, and then she’d be left shivering her way through the night, scowling out at the night sky until it began to lighten into the silver and peach tones of dawn. indeed, the woman was very much looking forward to this damned season being over.

Flurry had seen the verdant area from the archipelago often enough, though now that winter had set in, and what a rough winter it was, she couldn't help wanting to find her way to that once green swath of land. Though she supposed now that she was here it should have been obvious that things wouldn't be any less cold here. In fact the large open space made the bite of the wind worse. And it wasn't even pretty any more! Bummer. Flurry braced herself against the chilly wind, head down as she trudged across dead browned grass. She could have turned around, maybe even should have, but she'd gotten here and she was going to at lest try to make it worth her while! And maybe that scent of another wolf would be what she needed to feel that way, she was slowly tracking it, totally unsure exactly what would be awaiting her.

as Dulla travelled, she became aware of the scent of another wolf nearby, drifting overhead and bathing her tongue as she parted her lips to investigate further. Kas gave a trill of warning from where he was perched on her shoulder, shuffling grumpily - he was the only one who was enjoying the weather less than her, she was sure - but Dulla was tired of her own company and longing for a distraction from the miserable cold.

coming to a halt, she remained standing in place, waiting for the stranger to catch up to her. her eyes sought out the speckled pelt of an unfamiliar lady, an impressive pair of antlers adorning her skull. “hello there,” Dulla called out, voice raised to be heard over the wind. the woman’s scent was mingled with that of other wolves, which Dulla vaguely recognised as pack. distinctly, she felt a pang of longing; should she have asked Jack to take her to his pack that night they’d met? would she be faring better if she had? would he have said yes?

Flurry was glad to see it appeared the wolf had decided to wait for her. Maybe she shouldn't have been, they could have decided she was an easy mark. But there didn't seem to be much aggression in the woman's stance. In fact a voice lifted above the wind to greet her, what a sweet voice it was too. "Hello!" Flurry called back cheerily and she took the initiative to step a bit closer, mostly to avoid having to yell as much even if it felt like the wind would steal her voice before she even said anything, though she still maintained a respectful distance between them. "Well a friendly face sure does a lot to banish the cold. " Her tail wagged high above her rump and she flashed the other woman a grin.

"Well assuming such a pretty face is friendly." Couldn't hurt to flirt a bit right?
