It was time for her to become more acquainted with the purple brute she had given her loyalty to. Sephiran had accepted her at surface level at least- assigning Aresenn as her keeper for the time being until she could gain trust on her own. It had been a day since speaking to Aresenn, after that bloody hailstorm, of the etiquette needed to be able to keep herself from being killed by the volatile nature Sephiran possessed. Absinth thought it high time she took the initiative and approached him on her own, tracking him was difficult though. She wagered she had made it to his general vicinity when something emerged from the water at the edge of harbor. It was… a bear? Like a grizzly but entirely white- and so fucking massive.
Absinth waited and watched. She did not move as the bear stared back at her with beady black eyes, its jaws opening with a drooping lower lip before it released an insanely thunderous roar in her direction. Fuck. The bear began to advance on her, and from just behind it came 2 small figures with their own sets of beady black eyes. Cubs. And an over protective mother bear. Fuuuucckkkkk.
Absinth’s fur bristled and her hackles raised as she snarled wildly back - knowing this would not be enough to stop the beast. She could run, sure, but damn if the thrill wasn’t keeping her sneering- grinning face firmly planted there waiting for the bear to charge her. ”Come on then, bitch. I’ll skin you and your brats. Make my fucking day!” The monochromatic fae shouted tauntingly, ears pinning back with a wicked laugh.

Traveling along the shoreline of the harbor, Sephiran wasn’t looking for anything in particular. In fact, if anything at all managed to get his attention and keep him busy, he would be satisfied. He had already tormented Aurelia quite thoroughly the night before. So much, that his dick was actually feeling sore, and he wasn’t interested in making it worse. He needed to find something else to do. Someone else to torment. Patrolling the territory was great. Slaughtering animals and trespassers was grand. But hell, he needed something new to happen. Needed some type of reprieve from his routine.
Absinth. Her scent dangled in the breeze, fresh and strong, meaning she was nearby. And, given that Aresenn’s scent wasn’t accompanying hers, meant she was alone. Why not pay her a visit? Changing his course, Sephiran trailed after her. Sauntering across the beach, allowing the waves to lap at his toes. As he came closer, her white frame appeared along the horizon… and so did three others. His pace quickened, ears turning in her direction, as the thunderous roar of a bear echoed across the valley. His mind whirled, memories of his encounter with Aresenn and the Polar Bear flashing in his vision. They were dangerous beasts, powerful and foreboding, hard to take down alone. Was Absinth really crazy enough to try it?
Stopping at a distance, Sephiran wanted to see if she was indeed that crazy. Or, that stupid. He caught the tail end of her taunt, coaxing the bear to charge. His inky lips peeled back, contorting into a sneer that could be interpreted as a smirk. He was close enough for her to see him, yet far enough to make his stance on the situation known. He was testing her, hoping to see the tactical predator she claimed to be come out and shine.

The mother bear was dead set on killing her. She knew the look. Too bad no one had ever looked to protect her like that. Absinth spat, her fur bristled with so much fury at being forced to fight a creature so primitive she couldn’t understand how they still kept a presence. Well whatever. She didn’t have time to think about the intricacies of life. She was fine just thinking of tasting the sweet, young blood of the cubs looking on at their mother’s charge with beady black eyes.
So the monochromatic female readied herself, muscles tensing. One, two, close enough. She barreled forward, a slice of a bear’s paw grazing her hip as she dove under the polar bear, skidding to a stop as she came out the other side. It had taken the bear a second longer to realize just what had happened; but by then Absinth had jumped atop its back with all the strength she could muster. Her jaws seeking purchase at the beast’s nape; paws and claws scrabbling for an entirely different objective. She was reaching in order to blind. Catching something, blood and a shriek leaving the bear as it reared back to dislodge Absinth from her advantageous perch. She fought to do the same to the bear’s right eye, grunting as her jaw began to lose strength. Her hind limbs fixed in place with the help of the mother bears fat hide becoming the perfect footholds for her nails. Anything to hold on a little longer. AT least until she got the other eye.

Watching from his perch, Sephiran set his gaze on Absinth. Captivated by her advance, eyes alit with morbid fascination. He wanted to see her morph into a predator in the face of unrivaled danger. Not because she was cornered, but because she was enthralled by the bloodshed. There weren’t many creatures as deadly as a polar bear- even grizzlies couldn’t compare. They were massive, lumbering, vicious beasts. Ones who killed for sport, tortured their prey, played with them. Sephiran should have seen the beasts as admirable, given they shared similar qualities. But each time he encountered one of the white bears, all he saw was a threat who dared to challenge him.
Hunt, feed, reproduce, repeat. It was the mundane cycle of life that Sephiran desperately wanted to break out of. Did Absinth feel the same? Or was she purely driven by the need for survival?
Sephiran was eager to see what happened next.
Leaning forward on his haunches, he watched as she barreled forward. A paw grazed her hip, claws slicing into the muscle. Even from this distance, Sephiran recognized the splatter of red as blood wept from her wound. Licking his lips, fantasizing about the taste. He didn’t descend from his perch just yet, as Absinth single-handedly kept attacking the monstrosity. Jumping onto its back, sinking her jaws into it’s nape. Was she trying to sever the spinal cord? Laughable at best, given how thick the bear’s pelt was. But oh? His assumption was wrong. Absinth was blinding it with her claws, using her hold on its nape to keep her steady. Still choosing to not intervene, he witnessed the bear rear up- perhaps trying to buck her off, or throw itself onto its back to crush her.
Meanwhile, her cubs had fled into the nearby foliage, trying to hide while their mother fought to protect them.

The beast was shrieking in rage, shaking it’s massive skull side to side in an effort to deter the monochrome woman from taking it’s other eye. Absinth did not falter though, striking when again she felt her paws brush the unbloodied side of the bears face, slicing through the delicate eye and getting stuck in the socket for a moment. Panic set in for a moment, followed by rage from the woman. Why? The fucking thing was losing it’s balance due to it’s own stupidity, backing up and up- giant paws frantically trying to reach back and dislodge Absinth. She grunted and she ripped her claw out of the bear’s socket, releasing her hold as she pushed off the beast’s back with a landing marked with a thud.
Only a second later came a second, much heavier thud. The bear had fallen onto it’s back, already twisting to get back on its feet. No! She wouldn't let it get up so easily after all that hard work! Absinth was quick, brutal. As the beast’s vision was gone now she shot forward to take a bite out of the mother bear’s face- the soft nose in particular. But she didn’t just bite. The bitch tore it off. Blood gushed forth, splattering her white coat with the deliciously red liquid, warming her up nicely where it coated her.
Unfortunately, this most certainly fatal strike came at a cost to Absinth as well. The bear, blinded but fully capable of movement still - swiped at her as she took its nose. Sending Absinth flying off into the snow, crashing down with a flutter of sleet.
Still, the girl did not stay down. A fatigue entering her limbs she pulled herself up from the ground, a new succession of lacerations clawed into her shoulder where she had been hit. Emeralds all lit up with both pain and pleasure. “Good, I like it rough. I hope your children don’t disappoint either.” The wicked woman cackled breathlessly, the intensity of the fight sending her heart hammering in her chest.

Gouging out the bear’s remaining eye, Absinth had rendered the enraged mother blind. Sending the beast into darkness, enhancing her innate fight or flight response. Rearing up, bucking, trying to dislodge the wolf on its back. And just before it attempted to smash Absinth against the ground, she pushed off its back and stumbled to safety. Then, Absinth tore its nose off. Splattering more blood onto the earth, perhaps wanting a bloodbath to enjoy.
But again, the woman didn’t escape the swiping paw that came barreling at her. Sending her flying several feet away into a nearby snowdrift, which broke her fall. Licking his lips, which were covered in saliva from his watering mouth. Sephiran kept watching, releasing a loud huff, as he was disappointed in her ability to dodge the bear’s attacks. Spewing more insults, while Sephiran tapped the ground with his claws. She was taking her sweet time, putting on a thorough show- but he was done watching her mutilate the mother. He wanted to see how she treated the children.

Absinth watched a moment as the mother bear began to experience the effects of her blood loss. She was unable to stand, limbs buckling beneath her as the exhaustion began to take hold of her body. If she still had eyes, they would have been dazed and unfocused. The blood pouring from her snout was continuous, leaving her gurgling and choking on her own blood in great globs of red she coughed up onto the clean white snow. The scene was so exciting, Absinth felt the rush slither up and down her spine in a delicious shudder. She approached the bear with a predatory saunter, the grin never leaving her face as she pressed a paw down on the weakened bear’s throat, her teeth tearing a hole into the soft area under the jaw. She dug in until she brought out the tongue and ripped it roughly from the now fading mother bear.
But she still had work to do, spitting the flesh out onto the ground she set off after the cubs. They were quite easy to find. They were no bigger than Absinth - smaller even. Almost completely defenseless at their age. She laughed, a raucous thing filled with what could only be described as demeaning. “Hello pretties. Mommy should have known, even predators can become prey.” And that part of her that despised prey took hold of her, but with her craving for mutilation sated by the mother bear Absinth delivered her wrath swiftly and horrifically. She tore into one cub first, slamming it down and crunching into its limbs, offering it a few moments of extreme agony before she would strike the killing blow. Then the other cub, as it tried to run from her only to be run down and barreled over. This one she pressed paws down into his throat, suffocating it with force enough she swore the bear’s beady little eyes had begun to pop out of their sockets. All the while the cubs limbs flailed feebly at her, the blood from the killing of its mother and sibling dripping down onto its face.
In truth, Absinth had forgotten Sephiran at some point between the fight with the mother and now. This was for her enjoyment.

Watching with morbid enthusiasm, Sephiran’s gaze didn’t stray away from the battle to the death. Absinth finally delivered the killing blow- first extracting the mother polar bear's tongue, perhaps out of carnal bloodlust. Blood loss would eventually claim the bear’s life- her body becoming still, which prompted Absinth’s attention to the cubs. Leaning forward, tracing her movements with his gaze. He was thrilled to see her treat the children so callously.
As she suffocated the life out of the second cub, Sephiran made his descent. Loping down the hillside, entering her proximity without warning. Gravitating towards her, and slowing his pace to a saunter. He walked directly through the bloodied scene, crushing whatever organs lay on the ground beneath his paws. Licking at his lips, clearing away the saliva dripping from his jowls. Sephiran cast his gaze to her, pleased with the slaughter, though his expression remained stoic. The acknowledgment was enough- surely she would pick up on the subtleties of his body language. He wasn’t attacking her, after all. Turning to the carnage, Sephiran surveyed the scene one last time, before he drifted away into the neighboring tree line.
