While not getting into the sordid details, Hattori sent him off with Akito's companions and a bird ahead of time to give Artorias a heads-up. While Akito didn't know who was going to meet him at the castle gates, he hoped it wouldn't turn into a total disaster. As prepared as he could be, he still was a pup after all, and had to work through his own mind and emotions just like anyone else.

Approaching the large castle gates, Akito stopped just on the other side. One quick glance skyward to his raven and then down at his pup who wasn't so puppy-like anymore. The pup gave a yip of confidence that left Akito sighing. Tilting his chin upward, he called forth to announce his arrival. Whether it was Artorias himself or the wolf he would be... training with, he would wait patiently. Being patient was at least something Akito was good at. Conversating, not so much.
