Since leaving the other pack behind, Gabriel’s thoughts floated like feathers upon water. The pallid ghost of a creature padded through the rolling knolls of yet another region he knew not the name of, wondering and wondering. He had no home again. The other pack simply didn’t..fit. Then again, since shedding his wings involuntarily, he stuck out amongst mortals like a sore thumb — always waiting and waiting for a something or a someone to shift his path.

But there was none. He had only the scars that decorated his frame, the cloak that sat upon his shoulders, and the golden sword that tapped against his hip as he walked slowly across the grassy plain. Perhaps there was something or a someone here he’d been hoping for. Who knows?
