Legacy dug carefully in her little garden patch in the Plains, humming softly under her breath as she went down the line, every few feet digging another hole about four inches deep by three inches wide.

By each hole, she laid a seedling of several different herbs and plants. Some had been gifted by her mother from the plants the Nomads had bequeathed upon Eramaya when she’d decided to join Valhalla and settle with her daughter. Had Eramaya not settled after the Long Dark, Legacy would have been given the plants upon her finishing her full training.

The plants were rare, and both she and her mother worked hard to keep the mother plants of these seedlings thriving, as many of them didn’t naturally grow in climates like the Plains. They had to think of inventive ways to keep them happy, especially in winter.

In truth, Legacy enjoyed it. Gardening was one of her favorite hobbies aside from travel and stargazing.
