Highlight reel

Tethys had all but promised Ursa she'd take her on an adventure, and she intended to follow through on that promise. She hadn't forgotten, but the winter had been a harsh one and she hadn't had the opportunity to take time out to focus on such an adventure. With the change in seasons though, and the weather growing much more mild, it seemed like as good a time as ever. After making sure she had permission to whisk Ursa away on a little trip - she'd be foolish to do otherwise - she set her sights to the north.

Wanting her to see the sights she'd described to her, they'd have to set out early. Rousing her from sleep long before the sun rose, careful not to wake her parents or siblings in the process, she began to lead the way north, out of the woods. She hoped to make the most of their trip, though she was already worried that somehow she'd let the girl down. Sure, there were sights to see, but what else? Maybe she could work a lesson or two in as well. Since they were out before sunrise, finding prey shouldn't be too hard, either...

"Maybe we could find something to hunt, too, while we're out?" Tethys asked Ursa after a long, long silence. Small talk wasn't something she was good at, and honestly she hoped Ursa's childlike curiosity would fill the gaps along the way. So far it was a lot easier hanging out and talking to a kid than it was an adult, at least as far as she was concerned.
