Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see

The last thing Basilisk remembered was falling asleep in the familiar room of his treehouse. Waking up what was clearly an open expanse, shrouded in a layer of mist was the last thing he expected. He blinked and looked around him. Feeling as if he was underwater. Everything felt muted, as if he could almost grasp the sound of voices in the distance. A barest hint of scents, as if there was something beneath the layer of mist.

He blinked slowly, taking a cautious step forward, breathing in deeply, and feeling chill air against his nostrils. Things around him started to slowly take form. It felt less as if the mist was vanishing, and more as if things were slowly taking on substance around him.
