After taking down the Takin with the other boys, Wilder had requested he remove and keep the horns. There was no edible element of the horns so the others had had no problem with it. Carefully pulling the cartilage filled pieces away from the bone, he took care cleaning them and ensuring they were still in good condition before carrying them to his destination. Having them tied together with some grapevine slung over his back, he enjoyed the way they thumped against his ribcage as he walked out of the cathedral and through God's Garden toward the Starlit Plains.
Stopping at the border, he looks to the ravens that wheel around in the starry night. The sun had set a few hours ago, but with the clear night sky, he had been able to traverse the land easily. With a nod to Artorias' ravens so they knew to alert the Aegis of histrespassing presence, Wilder wanders through the near chest high grass. He wouldn't have known where to go if it hadn't been for the night of the ball. While she hadn't taken him up to her room that night, she had still mentioned where it was among the fortress of stone. Coming to stop at the wall of the castle, worn granite and thick ivy obscuring his vision, he tilts his head up, still quite unable to see where he wanted.
Taking a few steps back, his vermilion gaze moves about the different floors until he notices one where the warmth of candlelight still makes it way from around curtains. This late at night, surely she would be the only night owl of the castle with their light on. With his chin already tilted up, he lets loose an attempt at a quiet howl that beckons Meadow from her rooms. His tail already begins to wag as he takes another few steps back so that she too can see him from her balcon.

She'd been up late, reading. Carefully studying the templates of the old jewelry, things from before their time. Long before it. Things that could be recreated with uncle Art's steel process, something they often applied to weapons. Sure, weaponry was cool and all, but there were even more fun things to do with it. So many possibilities... it was no wonder that she stayed up at night. They really did come to life before her eyes, when she's alone in her room. Grateful for the blackboard that she'd been able to convince Bramble to help her drag up here, Meadow had been happily sketching and drawing plans in chalk long into the night.
The howl that breaks her focus is... curious. Strange. Her brow crumples for a moment, moving to her window. It couldn't be. That couldn't be Wilder. That couldn't be for her. Stepping out onto her balcony and blinking hard into the darkness for a moment, heart pounding in her chest. There he was, looking up at her. Meadow is quick to shush him, at once worried that someone inside the castle will wake up, will hear him. "Wait there," it's a loud whisper and a gesture both, trying to get the point across without further risk.
Exciting... thrilling... and shoot okay Meadow was flustered. Her footsteps were quick and careful as she made her way outside, and around the side of the castle. Racing to Wilder's side, grinning, even if she's confused. "I.. it's late. Are you okay?" Meadow's gaze alight, unable to help the questions as the come. She's gotten more comfortable talking around him, maybe more than anyone else. Meadow is pretty sure she's never been happier to see someone.

It takes not but a few seconds for Meadow to appear on her balcony, quickly shushing him with a loud whisper. A chuckle rumbles in his chest as he steps back, farther into the shadows of the plains. His tail wags as he shifts his weight from side to side, anticipating the excitement he'll feel when he presents her with the gift he's brought. Would she like it? Gosh, he'd never done anything like this for a girl before! It wasn't... like him to do such a thing. Looking at the horns, he wonders if he's doing the right thing.
He's not given any time to change his decision because Meadow is already out the gates and standing in front of him. How did she move so fast? "I'm fine, come walk with me," he murmurs, the smile on his lips bright and cheerful. Turning, he doesn't say another word. The horns are still strapped over his back as he begins to walk through the plains. Clouds sparsely fill the sky, occasionally showing a sprinkling of stars. Guided by a few streams of moonlight, Wilder takes note of how tall the grass is, how far the plains stretch before it turns to wooded area. A great place for raising rabbits or used as an vantage point if intruders came to attack. Plus, it was beautiful, he was sure, especially during the summer when the flowers would bloom.
