Calm Before The Storm

The raid meeting finished, the target determined. They were to raid the Raiders and Dag headed up to her den to get her armor and weaponry. She was a volatile mix of emotions. Anger at her loss the previous raid, excitement for the battle to come and a rare chance to cut loose… and sorrow. Deep sorrow, anger and regret at her break up with Gossamer. Dagrún stopped outside her den, eyes closed tight. It was all too much. She had no idea how to unpack everything she was feeling. She needed to beat something up. She needed someone to beat her up.  Thank the gods there was going to be a raid.

Dag entered her den only to see the cluster of remaining chickens, including Hay's named ones, on. her. bedding. "You feathery fuckers, get off of there!" She darted in, snapping at them and herding them out. How the fuck had they gotten up here? No wonder the raiders missed these. Something of a traditionalist, Dag had always struggled in understanding why anyone would just keep food hanging around rather than hunting, but she wouldn't deny the benefit of having fresh eggs. Hopefully the hens left her something as compensation for the damage they'd caused.

Sighing she eyed the feathers and poop in her nice, previously clean den. Well crap, she'd just have to deal with that after the raid. Dagrun grabbed her armor, donning it with the help of Sperla's beak. The weapons were next. She studied the feel of the leather. She would get her fight, one way or the other. If she was lucky, maybe she could purge some of the emotional demons that plagued her since the break up.
