Absinth had been practicing with her knives, one at a time of course. She thought of them as backups for each other, should she lose one in the fray. Her precision had greatly improved over time, as had her movement speed with the added weight of the armor on her body. It was comfortable, the piece fitting perfectly to the curves of her body. While she still enjoyed the freedom of fighting weaponless and armorless… if it brought her benefits in battle she was all for it. And practice indeed made perfect.
She had taken to prowling the swampland, seeking out a challenge, a target to test her skills on. Today, when a low growl echoed through the land of muck and mire, she was of course ready for the fight that ensued. A feral snarl, a flash of stripes, Absinth was quick on the uptake, dodging the tiger with a graceful leap to the side – her paws touching back down in time with its spin to face her again in shock. In one fluid motion, Absinth unsheathed her gleaming knife, the blade caught within her jaws. The monochromatic woman’s counter came swiftly, it had to, as the beast charged again. She kept her weight on her toes, a grin upturning her lips against her weapon.
The tiger swiped furiously as it came within striking distance of her, but Absinth danced around its blows with ease, her senses heightened by the thrill of battle. She waited for the perfect moment, watching those unfocused and sloppy movements with some amount of pleasure. She bided her time well, until the tiger’s guard faltered and it overextended itself. The subsequent stumble was all Absinth needed. With a lightning-fast strike, Absinth lunged forward, driving her blade deep into the tiger’s chest. She twisted her blade harshly, her limbs digging into the slick ground to push her knife deeper in before she let go. It released a choked, desperate cry before collapsing to the muddy ground, bleeding out slowly as her knife still lay within its chest. "Mmm, now that's a trophy." Breathing heavily, Absinth grinned in delight – her charcoal face splattered with blood, her heart pounding with adrenaline as she watched it gasp on the ground.
But her delight was short lived. Because from the depths of shadows behind her came a fierce roar, and a collision of her and a larger body unto the ground. A second tiger, out for revenge. Now grabbing with the ivory woman to take her life.
