Caedes had plunged into the depths of the cave system, the occasional crumbled skylight offering lighting within the depths of the tunnels. His purpose was clear. The scent of his quarry lingered in the air – a grizzly bear, a challenge.

With every step, Caedes moved with his usual predatory grace, his muscles rippling beneath his obsidian coat. The thrill of the hunt was coursing through his veins like a raging river. As he followed the bear's scent deeper into the heart of the caverns, he made use of his senses to their fullest extent. Vigilant, ready to act at a moment's notice.

And then, he saw it – a massive silhouette looming amidst the shadows, the bear's form unmistakable even in the low light. With a low, rumbling growl of anticipation, Caedes crouched, his emeralds fixed on his target with intense focus. All at once, Caedes launched himself forward, closing the distance between himself and the bear in a matter of heartbeats. He collided with its flank, teeth snapping and ripping at its hide – rending into it as it sought to whirl on him.

At Caedes' side, Kaino was more than happy to hunt down a bear. She may have come off as a nuisance by now, but the woman didn't care one bit. She'd missed her cousin and was damned determined to make up for lost time. So, as he disappeared into the cave, she was right on his tail.

Caedes made for the bear first, catching its attention. Kai was right behind him, darting to the opposite side to sink her teeth into its front shoulder as the big, brown body curled towards the larger wolf. Blood filled her mouth and she was satisfied, pulling back just as the bear rounded on her, one large paw swiping out in an attempt to crush the fae. She pranced away, bobbed tail wagging. This sort of thing was quite enjoyable.

Kaino's eagerness to join the hunt didn't escape Caedes's notice, though he remained outwardly impassive as they closed in on their quarry – he was quite pleased. As he engaged the bear, he could feel Kaino's presence at his side, her energy surging beside him as he bit into the bear.

With a precise attack, Caedes drew the bear's attention, shaking and tearing at its flank, while Kaino swiftly moved to flank it. As the bear turned its fury towards her, Caedes remained focused, ready to intervene. He crashed into it, grappling at its neck, teeth sinking into the side of its throat as he attempted to use his hefty weight to unbalance it. It lumbered, unable to rear back onto its hind legs, body moving to push against a tunnel wall to dislodge the brute.

There would be no dislodging. With Caedes substantial weight hanging onto the front end to keep the bear grounded, Kaino rushed in to slam her body into one hind leg. The balance of the bear faltered and it fell hard onto one hip. The quick, agile fae had already moved away. With practiced precision, she grabbed the hind leg still in the air and pulled, keeping the bear on the ground. It would be up to Caedes to deliver the finishing blow. She would simply do her best to keep the beast on the ground and distracted enough for the big bite to end its life.

With Caedes anchoring the bear's front end, at its neck, Kaino wasted no time in executing an attack to interfere with its attempt to dislodge Caedes. With a swift maneuver, she targeted the bear's hind leg, disrupting its balance and causing it to fall heavily onto one hip. Caedes was tugged with it, but instantly regained his footing and his hold – jaws snapping for the softer skin where the chin met the crook of the throat. As the bear struggled, Kaino had kept the beast distracted and grounded, it’s paws trying to find their footing, desperate to flee rather than continue to fight. Caedes tore at its vulnerable flesh to deliver the final blow.

They worked in tandem, each playing their part, doing what needed to be done to execute both their plan and their prey with utmost efficiency. Caedes was in charge of the kill and Kaino was in charge of keeping the bear down. She pulled at its limbs, keeping the paws from finding any purchase on the stone floor that it could use to right itself. There was absolutely no chance of that.

Struggling tamped down to small flickers of twitching and Kai knew that the end was nigh. Soon the bear lay there, lifeless, just like many others had before it and how many more would after. The purple fae grinned at her cousin and gave the dead bear a pat with one silver gloved paw. "Do you want this fur? I'll skin it for you." She was going to skin it anyway, but it was okay to be nice and offer things to family sometimes, eh?
