The Northern lights were unusually bright this year, and seemingly reaching across the world with tendrils of color. Summer had come and gone, and the young male had trekked a great deal. He had ventured further than he had before, and now that he had returned to a cooler climate after having been in a much warmer one before, he wasn't sure how he felt about it. He had stayed with a small band of rogues for a little while, a rather uncouth band of ruffians. How he had ended up there was a mystery. They had been ready to pummel him over his meal that night...but he had managed to be charismatic enough to sway them in his favor.

The downside? He was pretty sure he had fleas now. The dirty band of wolves had apparently never heard of a bath and didn't seem to care for their appearances, and as a result, had given the shadow male fleas. He couldn't stop scratching for a week! It was getting really irritating, but he hadn't known where to find a good remedy nor had he been able to find what he was looking for until now. Aha! He spotted a dying rosemary shrub near the edge of the woods and made a beeline for it. While it wasn't his herb of choice, it would have to do for now to help with the situation.

Carefully, he stripped off what he needed before collecting some kindle to make a small fire. It took him a few minutes to get it started, and once he got it going, he took off his tattered makeshift bag and emptied it out until he found a dinged up tin pot he had found during his travels. It worked well enough to make tea, but he'd have to find a better one sooner rather than later. Throwing snow into the pot, he waited for it to melt and then boil before putting the rosemary in. He sat back, waiting for the concoction to boil. After several minutes, he could see that the color had changed and the aroma of rosemary permeated the air around him.

Carefully, he removed the pot from fire and set it in the snow to cool, scratching every couple of minutes as the fleas bothered him. I can't wait to get rid of these things! This is absurd! Grabbing a scrap of burlap and a wooden bowl, he placed the material over it and poured the pot of rosemary into it to strain. Once that was done, he picked up the bowl and frowned. It definitely wasn't going to be enough, but it would do for now. He collected a nice, spongy bit of moss and soaked up the contents before soaking his fur everywhere he could reach. Hopefully, it would do to repel the fleas...but he'd definitely have to make a trip down to the hot springs to get rid of them completely. This at least, would prevent new ones and probably kill some of the ones he already had. Hopefully.
