Every day she was feeling better and better and today she was feeling like her strength had returned completely. Of course she still lacked much of the muscle tone she had prior to falling ill, but she was energized and ready to see what she had to work with. She supposed that she could've found a willing participant within Insomnia but she strove for something else, something unexpected. You never knew what you'd get when going to the battlefield in search of a spar. She didn't even need to think twice on the idea before grabbing her gear and her companions and making her way over, and calling out once she got there for anyone near by interested in a spar.

Coran would like to believe that all would be peaceful when he made his band but he was sensible enough to know that would not be the case. He'd spent the first half of the season focusing on his hunting but now it was time to work fighting back into the mix and so he headed to the Battlefield to train. Coran scouted out the terrain looking for a place to summon a challenger but before he could call he heard a call not far from him. Ah, well that was even better!

Coran shifted course and arrived to see the lovely woman that had called. While her outer appearance held a tinge of frailty he could sense the strength of her spirit emanating out. He dipped his head in greeting. "Hello, my name is Coran. I'll take your challenge." She set his defenses and looked to her for the first move.

She wasn't left waiting long before a pale man only slightly smaller than she approached and took her up on her offer of a challenge. She smiled, though there was a wickedness behind it. Perhaps if she made it through this spar unscathed, she would stick around and see if anyone else was interested.

"Pleasure to meet you, my name is Widow," she almost purred however there was little pause between her words and action. Reaching for her staff secured safely within her cloak, she grabbed the hilt of the weapon before charging full speed towards the man. With the heavy end lowered close to the ground, she sought to sweep his legs out from underneath or at least give him a good wallop if she were lucky. Unfortunately the weapon slowed her down quite a bit, not to mention her cloak was good at catching the wind and slowing her even more, but she was still fast and light on her paws for someone so tall. She could only hope that the man wouldn't out speed her straight out of the starting gate, but it wasn't like she didn't already have a few tricks in mind.

The woman introduced herself as Widow and then immediately she leapt into battle. She seized her weapon and raced toward him, swinging it around toward his legs. Coran kicked off hard with his hind legs, leaping for the woman's right side as he bounded over the staff… well, mostly. His front legs cleared it but his hind legs got caught. In a last ditch effort his head lanced forward, fangs aiming to catch Widow's right shoulder in an effort to stabilize himself while he shifted his weight to his front paws, his hind legs scrambling to catch up before she swung again or abandoned the weapon.

Her opponent was smart to attempt jumping over her staff, however he wasn't so lucky. While his first half cleared it successfully, she felt the resistance of it catching on his hind legs. Unfortunately given the angle and her weapon, it was a bit difficult to see the fangs aimed for her right shoulder and so it was an easy target for him to grab hold. She hissed and dropped her weapon in the same moment before swinging her head towards the mans left flank with jaws parted and fangs ready to catch the sensitive flesh just before his left thigh.

Coran's fangs latched onto Widow's right shoulder and he swiftly tensed his abdomen, seeking to drag his hind legs back under himself. Thankfully he succeeded. Coran swiftly redistributed his weight across his limbs as regained his balance. How he was positioned though he couldn't see Widow's attack coming. He heard the sound of the staff hitting the ground but had no idea what was coming and knew he could not move fast enough at this close range to avoid retaliation. He winced in pain as fangs latched into the tender flesh of his side, just before his left thigh. Coran instead bit harder, hoping maybe she would release him.
