"Speech"

Eltrys looked over the ridge at the grazing herd of Takin. They were lazing about in their summer stomps here in the dragon's blood grove. Though the grasses were short and sparse, they seemed to be finding enough food for themselves up here.

Eltrys looked up at the odd-shaped tree, a rope slung over his shoulder as he thought about how to catch one of these things. The dense branches above had small openings where he could conceivably fit the other end of his rope so he could set up a good snare.

He laid out a loose loop between a bush and some scrub. High enough to catch one or two of the beast's legs, but he needed a way to set it up so that when the loop was disturbed the rope would be pulled up into the tree just high enough for him to reach and kill it.

Dûrion moved, less than gracefully, towards the scent of the prey he had caught a while back. His brother was likely about somewhere, he wasn't worried. Boden would call if he needed him. Large clawed paws met the earth and his size helped to eat the ground between him and his quarry.

Upon arrival he could see a canine and some sort of contraption. His pace slowed to a stop at the edge of the ridge. A hum of thought given and a quiet click of his teeth. He was unbothered by the wolf and more interested in the food options. He'd smelled these ungulates miles back and like any good bear followed the scent up here. The wolf was of little concern to him, unless it ruined his chance at a good meal for him and his brother.

A great golden bear wandered by, and considering his pack leader was a bear currently he wondered if this one might be helpful. 

"Ho, bear!" He called to him, waving him down. "Would you like a part of the kill if you lend me a paw?" He asked outright, nodding to the Takin over the ridge. Maybe if they timed it right the trap would grab more than one!

"I'm trying to get this part of the rope over the branch," Eltrys explained. Then they would need to find a rock or log perfectly heavy enough to be lifted and held up by a hair trigger.
