After a restful week on The Forgotten Isles, a place she found intriguing and wanted to explore further, a woman with peach sand-colored skin made her way towards Aspen Dam. The ground beneath her feet softened in some areas, likely due to recent rains causing the dam to overflow. Her keen sense of smell picked up a lone scent that grabbed her attention - likely a solitary brute. Whether it was part of a herd or not didn't matter to her; she needed to eat. She would even share her meal with others, as she knew she would. With a chuckle, she continued on the trail, despite the open land making it harder to flank and hunt. Keeping a safe distance away from the lone water buffalo, she observed it grazing and drinking water, waiting patiently. She was cautious, well aware of the risks, even though her hunger urged her to make a move. Noticing the buffalo limping on its front leg, she guessed it was an old wound, as there was no scent of blood in the air.

Identification however did tuck the bracelet of shell and stones away for safe keeping. Eyes soon locking onto the water buffalo once more, she patiently waited for others, if others would arrive and come to aid her in this hefty hunt and a meal that would do more than fill them. And probably be able to harvest some and take back to were ever they may come from or even offer a alpha to join the pack. She smirked at the thought, as muscles coiled and uncoiled. Her tail still behind her frame. When the buffalo moved she moved carefully. Stalking, but making it appear she wasn't a threat.

an injured water buffalo is a prime hunting opportunity, and Spider isn’t surprised to find a young cream-pelted fae already stalking the creature, steps light and cautious on the softened ground. Spider pauses to observe her, noting her technique and form, and concludes she seems to be waiting for assistance. a smart choice, given the size of the creature, injured or not. moving slowly, Spider sidles up the the woman’s side and inclines their head in greeting, eyes never leaving their quarry. that familiar prickle of excitement runs through them, anticipation and nerves and something distinctly predatory. “Spider Fatalis, at your service,” they murmur, slanting the woman a tiny grin. sharp teeth bared in a hungry smile, a hunter’s smirk. “lead on, fair maiden - i’m yours to command.” they’d ambushed her hunt, after all; she could take the lead, if she desired.

Identification soon noticed the scent of another drifting towards her, a stranger, but possibly one to help with the hunt, her body shivered with anticipation. Soon words fell from the youngsters mouth. This one was coal and slate colors, and those beautifully painted pink eyes, the younger wolf was smaller insize, but Fic was not about to judge another upon their size. She wasn't like that.

Offering their name to her. 'Spider Fatalis, at your service,' the first words that came to her mind was polite. 'lead on, fair maiden - i'm yours to command.' A smile was offered. "Greetings Spider Fatalis. I am Identification, and not one to command, but work together to fill our bellies." The woman paused, they smelt of a pack so adding in. "And take some food back to your pack if needed."

It was true, Identification wasn't one to command but work together as a team. Ears flick as eyes glance to the one water buffalo. "Think that one would be good?" Question, also wanting input from Spider.

Spider follows the woman’s line of sight, nodding their approval. Identification, she’d said her name is - and she seems agreeable, too. Spider likes her already. “sure thing!” and since seems amendable to suggestions, they add, “how about i distract it and you go in for the kill? that way i can be on standby if anything goes wrong.” which it hopefully won’t, but one can never be too sure. Spider waits for confirmation, tail swaying behind them in eager sweeps. maybe they can even strip the creature’s pelt and take it back home. they could use the leather to make all kinds of things! oh, but then…Spider examines the woman with a tilt of their head. does she have a pack to return to? she doesn’t smell like it, but that’s not always indicative of the truth. if neither of us die after this, they think to themselves wryly, i’ll ask.

Ears swivel to the sound of the larger beast's call out for the rest of the herd it belonged too, but they continued on. Which maybe infact was a good thing, Identification didn't want to cause any trouble or possible injury to her or Spider, her tail gave a wave. Turning to the other as emerald pools glittered with anticipation.

"That could work, but we both got to be very careful how we take this beast down." Attention went to the set of curved up horns upon the skull. Mouth watering as she swallowed. Ready though for anything that could come their way, Fic would protect this younger and much smaller one near her. Not doubting that Spider could hold their own, she'd have to protect them with any cost to her.

"We can do that, just be safe." A smile crossed her darker lips as she began to creep closer, studing the creatures current state. Creeping forward slowly her movements calculated and careful. Looking towards where Spider was, not wanting the other to get hurt.

The buffalo moving, Fic picked up the scent of blood, her eyes trained. Knowing why now the other was injured, and it's calls going unanswered. Making her way carefully sliding in and out of the tree line. Jaded pools trained on the hunted. Her muscles coiling as drawing closer. Her movements came to a halt as the buffalo turned its attention towards her.

Knowing this could end two ways. Her or Spider injured or the beast taken down. She wasn't about to let it charge towards Spider as it looked around, it's nostrils flaring. The woman moved forward a few more feet going unnoticed thankfully. That was until it caught her scent as a small gust of wind carried it. A growl was released as her paws carried her swiftly.

The bull put it's skull down, standing it's ground. Calling out once more in an attempt for back up. Identification circled to the other side. Constantly staying aware of the horns, her back legs springing outward, launching her to claim purchase upon it's throat. Her hind legs dancing as the brute pushed her. Jaws clamping closed as she'd tear and shake her head.

It's warm blood pooling into her mouth and out of the corners. Ears laced against her skull, the bull grunting still as it's eyes went towards Spider. Her grip releasing before it charged her into a tree that creaked with the impact from the stud. Quickly placing her infront of where Spider laid waiting, hackles rose along her spine, jaws opening and quickly closing while growling. She ran towards the buffalo then, ears splayed against her skull. Fic wasn't about to ruin the hide either if she didn't have to.

Springing toward the beast, a horn grazing her side. A sharp yip released, as once more she made purchase upon the beasts neck. Her side killed her but ignoring the pain, her cream coat seeping blood also. The womans skull shaking as tearing at the meat and coat upon the side of the water buffalos neck. Sure it wasn't the spot she had made purchase before but it would still cause pain to flood over the brute.

the woman acquiesces to their plan, and Spider nods as she warns them to be careful. her concern is nice, and they give a little appreciative smile before trotting off in the direction of the injured buffalo. given they’re serving as the distraction, Spider breaks into a run a few paces from their prey and makes a series of low growls, hoping to lock the buffalo’s attention completely onto them. the creature rolls it’s eyes in their direction, and Spider can practically taste it’s fear, mixing with the iron tang of blood. they run a few meandering circles around the buffalo, their tail streaming behind them like a dark flag, snapping teasingly at its flank or hide.

they’re too far to land an actual blow, and that’s not the intention here, but it serves to ensure the buffalo is completely trained on them when Fic attacks. Spider lingers, muscles tense, offering backup without interfering in the woman’s hunt. blood sprays into the air as she rends flesh from bone, the sight gory, a little messy, but expectedly brutal. it’s only when Fic groans in pain that Spider dashes forward, eyeing the wound on her back with worry. it’s rather deep, crimson leaking from the fissure and clumping in her fur. Spider latches onto the other side of the buffalo’s neck, tearing at the skin there. hopefully they can end this now, and find someone to patch Fic up. and with two wolves mauling such vital flesh, it isn’t long before the bull falls still between them. Spider runs their tongue over their lips, dispelling blood. “are you alright?” they inquire, brow furrowing in concern.

Soon the buffalo fell, as blood filled her own mouth, eyes carefully watching that of Spider and everything around her and the younger wolf. All Identification known was her back was hurt, although not too bad, but stung. Like an annoying sting, not knowing how deep it was or how damaged she was. All she known was the adrenaline raced through her entire body. Ears swivel at Spiders voice. 'Are you alright?' Looking for a moment in confusion, then once more the pain moved from where the horn had opened her up. Only but a scratch she figured, but the look Spider offered told her different.

"I am, just pain here and there. It might appear worse than it really is." She glanced, trying to see where the beast had got her, but with no luck, although running her tongue near the area she tasted the life that clumped and made her coat matted. Oh how was she going to explain this one? It might be a little harder to than just stating the truth. "I does hurt a little. Nothing that can't be patched up." It'd make for a story, one that many had. That they all had are stories. In turn it made them all unique. Fic moved towards Spider, jade pools going over the smaller wolf's frame. Making sure that they didn't get hurt.
