Ellara moved gracefully through the barren expanse, the soft rustle of her paws on the ashen ground barely breaking the oppressive silence. The Boneyard stretched out before her, a vast and desolate landscape littered with the remnants of countless battles and long-forgotten ceremonies. Bones, bleached by the relentless sun and time itself, jutted from the ground like the haunting specters of warriors past. Each step she took seemed to echo with the whispers of ancient conflicts, a reminder of the land's bloody history.
The wound on her flank, earned in her previous spar, had healed well. It left a faint scar, a testament to her resilience and determination. As she approached the heart of the Boneyard, she paused to admire the eerie beauty of her surroundings. The air was thick with the scent of old blood and decay, a grim but fitting backdrop for the challenge she was about to issue.
Raising her head, Ellara's vibrant pink eyes scanned the horizon. She took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment settle around her. With a powerful and haunting howl, she called out for a challenger, her voice piercing through the stillness. The sound carried far and wide, reverberating off the skeletal remains scattered across the land. It was a clear, unwavering declaration of her readiness to face whatever opponent dared to answer.

The boneyard. She had never been here before, but it was a place she had chosen to come to on the word that this was where beasts of all kinds came to fight. She wasn't looking for anything in particular other than a spar to test her own skill, though truth be told, the yearling was lacking since she had confined herself to her den during most of her puphood. But that stage of her life was done and over with now, and the Dragon Princess sought to better herself and expand her world. And what better way to start than to throw herself into the pit? Long, slender legs carried her over dust and bones, pale blue eyes keen and searching for something that looked promising. But luckily for her, someone else appeared to be searching for the same thing and the howl pierced the still air. She stopped to listen for a moment, pale ears flicking at the sound as she glanced at the cat on her back before continuing her path to find whoever it was. It didn't take long before she found the caller. Head held high, the Tojo princess approached, leaving a good bit of distance between them as was customary before dipping her head in greeting. "Mind if I join you?" She asked politely as she subtly shifted into a defensive stance. |

The rosewood fae watched as the unfamiliar wolf approached, her vibrant pink eyes locking onto the yearling with curiosity and a measure of respect. The blue eyes of the stranger reflected a strength that Ellara knew well - the fire that burned in those seeking to prove their strength. Overhead, her owls circled silently, their sharp eyes observing every movement below.
As the other wolf dipped her head in greeting, Ellara returned the gesture with a bow of her own. The distance between them was respectful, a clear understanding of the unspoken rules of engagement. Her gaze flicked to the cat perched on the young wolf's back; a curious companion, but one Ellara would not underestimate.
"Not at all," Ellara stated simply. When the Tojo princess subtly shifted into a defensive stance, Ellara responded in kind. Her muscles tensed beneath her sleep fur, her stance squared and her knees slightly bent. She took a deep breath, the scent of old blood and decay filling her senses, grounding her into this moment.
Without breaking eye contact, Ellara lowered her head, narrowed her eyes, and secured her tail to sginal she was ready. The silence between them hung heavy in the air, charged with the anticipation of the upcoming clash. Her owls let out synchronized cries from above, a signal that echoed across the boneyard like a battle cry.
With a powerful push of her hind legs, the fae sprung forward, aiming to test the defenses of her opponent. Her movements were swift and calculated, her eyes locked onto her target as she sought to drive Hinata back with her initial assault. Ellara aimed her bite at Hinata's right shoulder, intending to test the stability and reflexes of the younger wolf's defenses. Her goal was to force Hinata to react quickly and reveal any weakness in her stance of movement as she did so. Ellara kept her approach low and fast, hoping to catch Hinata off-guard, but she did not linger; once her strike was purchased or not, Ellara quickly sprung back a few feet to hopefully avoid retaliation. This would be Ellara's first time fighting a lighter wolf like herself, so she was eager to see where this spar led.

She prepared herself, both mentally and physically. The few lessons she had done in the past replaying in her head. Be patient. Be swift. Stay on guard. The slightest twitch of her ears when she heard the other wolf's owls sound the start of the fight. Her eyes narrowed, ears pinned back, hackles raised along her body. Her talons subtly dug into the earth beneath her, her tail shifting to align with her spine as she slightly bent her knees to lower herself a bit closer to the ground. She inhaled a deep breath. Held for a moment. Then released it. She was ready. Her opponent charged toward her then, aiming to come at her nearly head on. Hinata watched her movement, joints loose as she prepared to move herself. As her opponent got close enough to strike, Hinata surged forward then, stepping just enough to the side to avoid the bite, feeling her opponents teeth just pass centimeters away from her shoulder. Narrowed eyes locked on as the Dragon Princess began to shift her own body while her opponent aimed to spring away. Hinata shot out a paw, seeking to grab her opponents wrist with her own taloned hands in an effort to catch her and quickly yank her closer before she zeroed in with her own bite, teeth seeking the side of Ellara's neck with a swift bite. Ellara felt her teeth snap at empty air as Hinata deftly sidestepped her initial strike. She admired the younger wolf’s quick reflexes, but there was little time for appreciation as she sensed the shift in Hinata's stance. The Dragon Princess moved with surprising speed, and before Ellara could fully spring away, sharp talons closed around her wrist.
The force of the yank was swift and precise, pulling Ellara off balance and toward her opponent. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw Hinata's jaws aiming for her neck. Reacting instinctively, Ellara twisted her body with all the force she could muster, using the momentum of the pull to swing her hindquarters around. At the same time, she jerked her trapped paw upward, trying to free it from the hold.
As Hinata’s teeth came dangerously close, Ellara angled her head downward, avoiding a full grip on her neck, but feeling the graze of fangs near her scruff. Using the twist of her body, she attempted to drive her hind legs into Hinata’s chest, hoping to shove her back and create space between them. Ellara’s owls screeched above, circling tighter as the wolves clashed below.
