Sinking Inside Yourself

Gossamer had trouble gathering her thoughts with everything that had been going on int he Armada. Her research hadn't been leading to many useful results. She'd been studying the various blights they had in the garden, the more docile cousins to the disease that now ravaged the woods there. She needed more samples. The memory of the Long Night still burned in her mind and drove her to head to the Glowshroom Cavern. The mushrooms there were unique and reminded her much of that night. Could the fungus hold any useful properties? She knew they were deadly if eaten, but it was the dose that made the poison.

Gossy paused to gaze westward, watching the sun touch the horizon. She didn't have a lot of time if she wanted to find the cavern and get in and out before dark. Adjusting her pack she picked up her pace.
