Ellara Praetor

Enyo’s massive frame moved silently through the dense woods, her paws pressing into the frozen ground. The cold air was sharp and biting, but she welcomed it. The icy winds felt foreign, having become so accustomed to the warmth that was Boreas. Yet this place, Auster, was not her home. The way the frost bit into her thick fur in a different way than the suffocating humidity of their homeland was a constant reminder that they were far from Insomnia. Even the bugs seemed to invade wherever they rested their heads.

Enyo did not take long to decide she did not like Auster. Something about the land felt... untamed.

The two siblings' scent seemed stronger than ever in the still air. The vines trapped heat but also smells, signaling their approach long before their heavy paws reached the den she and Erebros had made for themselves among the twisted vines. Her head was held high, eyes gleaming with their usual sharp intelligence. The steely glow of her right eye cut through the darkness, while the icy blue of the other seemed to shimmer, reflecting the cold landscape around them. Erebros's hulking form matched her stride, the two would be a formidable sight.

But as they neared the vine-covered entrance of their makeshift shelter, something felt... off. Enyo’s nostrils flared, picking up the faint trace of an unfamiliar scent. Her lip curled instinctively, revealing a flash of her powerful teeth. She halted, broad shoulders stiffening as her piercing gaze narrowed, scanning the surroundings. The scent was faint but unmistakable. Someone had been here.

“Erebros,” her velvety voice rumbled in low volume. Her tone conveyed no panic, but the sharpness of her words hinted at the simmering anger beneath her composed exterior. She motioned with a flick of her ear toward their den, where the faintest traces of disturbance could be seen. A footprint in the hard ground, barely noticeable, but enough for her keen eyes. The vines seemed to hang differently. Disturbed, brushed aside with a carelessness that indicated an intruder. There was no fear, especially with her brother by her side. There would be no need for words, the two had been in many situations such as this before. Deadly and efficient were the pair and Enyo would no one other than her brother Erebros in a situation where force was required.

Regardless of her confidence, her heart surged with the familiar heat of fury. Of deep rooted resentment that always sparked when her space was violated. But her face remained a mask of control. If it had been any other season, Enyo perhaps would not have been so triggered. However the woman was in heat, and her hormones flared up. Emotions were high and her temper even hotter. Her vanity and pride dictated that she must maintain composure, even now. Yet inside, she raged. How dare they enter her space? Her presence demanded respect, not intrusion. After such a long journey and failed attempts at recruiting, the woman just wanted to rest.

How dare they?

Lowering her head, Enyo stalked forward, each step deliberate, muscles coiled beneath her thick, dense fur. The glow from the cavernous canopy above filtered down in weak slivers, highlighting her half-and-half face in an almost haunting light.

Should Erebros take the lead, she would follow.

É R E B O S .

auster became a bad memory like his ex wife had. withered in cold, lifeless and bare. they had set out on a mission to expand insomnia, but with night rolling in the siblings went back to their temporary densite. a nice spot with vines about but the coldness of auster was a stark contrast from medusa's lair. even so, he kept his discomfort tucked quietly underneath his controlled exterior. his demeanor was a tight one; a strangling force not matter where he went. it drained and sucked the life out of everything & everyone. it was as if the world he walked on shuddered before him. and for his large sibling, it would prove to be the same. her energy majestic yet somehow dangerous. Enyo was the dragon of their family. a spitfire who wielded with controlled wrath. the calamity waiting to doom their enemies all.

she calls out to him them with a warning laced in the way she spoke his birth name. as they come up to approach, his ears erected while the scent hit his nose. a jaguar. his eyes narrow, finding the scent to be familiar as he fixated on it with all his senses. finding the cat finally in the silhouette, he locks in as he made out the feline's bodily outline. attempting to hide after ruining their camp.. tsk, tsk, tsk. now that wasn't very smart; considering the cat had a good nose and smelt two large wolves prior to their invasion. yes.. a deliberate act of stupidity. it could only heed swift correction from the dunamis siblings.

he says nothing to his littermate, coming to slowly prowl past her as he assumed lead. driving his body slowly around the vine until he had clear passage towards the cat who thought it remained camouflaged. creeping ever so slowly, Érebos finally did create enough closeness before he'd suddenly spring into action. his large body plunging from behind the vine curtains that hid the cat as his strong forearms came reaching out to successfully grasp the jaguar's head. a fool to rely on hiding to keep them safe, Érebos held down the cat as it flailed aggressively, swatting at Érebos who seemingly consumed their attacks with fortified weight & might. his maw rippled out a serious snarl as he kept them down, holding them as he awaited his dire wolf sibling to attack their stomach.

Ellara Praetor

TW: GORE/BLOOD

Enyo watched her brother with a quiet intensity, her piercing gaze locked onto his every movement as he silently took charge. She said nothing as Erebos prowled forward, his hulking form moving with surprising stealth for one of his size. She knew this dance well: the silent communication between them, each understanding the other's intentions without the need for words. His narrowed eyes and focused demeanor told her everything she needed to know. Whatever it was, was a fool.

As Erebos crept forward, the scent of the feline grew stronger, its form finally materializing in the shadows of the vines.

A creature of death. A creature of prowess. A creature worth her while.

Enyo’s heart thudded in her chest, but she remained still, her body poised and stiff like a bull- waiting to charge. There would be no doubt where this feline resided on the food chain. On top. Enyo quickly deduced that this lion-like creature's careless trespassing was not because of inattention. The jaguar was more than likely an apex in these parts, having few if any predators of its own. This was why it lingered despite their scents. This was why it was careless with the fines it disturbed. The jaguar had chosen its hiding place poorly, and now it would pay for its arrogance. The Dunamis siblings did not suffer trespassers lightly.

The woman couldn't help but feel a delightful sense of nostalgia. The two working together in an unexpected situation. The blood. The frenzy of it all reminded her of one of the many tests Cassius had the two endure. How exciting! Enyo's heart thundered and the blood roared in her ears. How invigorating! Her muscles twitched with arousal. When Érebos lunged, Enyo moved with him. Her large paws crunched the frozen earth as she closed the distance between herself and the struggling feline. The jaguar’s swipes were desperate, clawing at Érebos, but his strength was unshakable. The scene before her was almost amusing. The jaguar flailed, outmatched, and caught off guard by the sheer power of her brother. It wasn't expecting such a threat let alone such an aggressive reaction. Pitiful idiot.

Something hot and dark stirred within her.

The pleasure she received from completely rending those weaker than her was inordinate. There was no greater thrill than culling the earth of the weak. What better way to drive her stake and place deeper into the soil she wished to claim?

With a deep, growling breath, Enyo stepped forward. Her posture exuded pure dominance, every muscle in her broad, powerful frame rippling as she towered over the pinned jaguar. Her fur bristled along her neck and shoulders, casting an even larger shadow across the trembling feline. There was no mercy in her gaze, only a sadistic pleasure as she looked down upon the intruder. The jaguar’s eyes flicked toward her, wild with panic, and for a brief moment, Enyo’s lips curled into a cruel smile. How foolish this creature had been to think it could hide from them. How foolish to believe that their den, their space, would be anything but a death trap for such insolence.

She moved with barbaric haste as she circled to the jaguar's exposed underbelly. Her nostrils flared, taking in the sharp scent of fear mingled with the pungent musk of the cat. She surged forward, lunging. The feline kicked out, a paw full of talons ripping across Enyo's cheek and down into her thick and densely furred chest. Fur floated into the air. Blood began to run down her cheek, the heat only arousing Enyo's bloodlust more.

It was quite cold out, and Enyo could only imagine just how warm the creature's insides were. Her pupils were dilated so that barely any blue showed. Pits of tar and destruction they were.

Without hesitation, she struck. Her broad muzzle snapped downward, powerful jaws clamping onto the soft flesh of the jaguar’s stomach.

The feline let out a shriek of agony, its body bucking beneath Erebos’s grip, but Enyo didn’t relent. Claws raked her sides as she ravaged the flesh. The pain only made her heart pound louder. She would work harder until it stopped. Her titanium teeth would make short work of the soft belly. She felt the warm gush of blood between her teeth, the flesh tearing as her powerful jaws worked deeper into its gut. Her eyes glinted with a savage satisfaction as she tore into the jaguar’s vulnerable form.

Steam began to rise from the amount of blood spilling from the two. How warm. The jaguar began to fight harder, a second wind and newfound strength arising from the threat of certain death. Enyo would no stop, not unless the creature somehow stood up. Her manic laughter muffled in the flesh.

I'll burn down your world baby, like a volcano that loves you

just as planned, the dunamis siblings conquered the animal quickly. Enyo moving to tear into the cat like a hungry dog, reminding Érebos just how barbaric Enyo truly is. it sent flash backs of his childhood when father sent them alone in the winters, leaving them stranded miles from home to fend for themselves together. and that night they fought against predators and survived ten times over, returning home after days spent lost and hungry. merely children then, but now a full circle moment as the two mature adults tore down a mutual enemy once again.

Enyo's enthusiasm fueled his own, for as his sister ruined the jaguar in every way, Érebos too began to violently thrash his cavernous mouth over the cat's head and throat, piercing many times into their eyes, nose & esophagus. a sudden snap and he well broke the neck of the cat that gave way to a limp exhaust. motionless finally.

he stepped away, maw covered in a crimson reward-, his binary eyes holding his sibling as he panted. feeling the rush still in his veins as he growled the lingering adrenaline away. "Well done." he panted more. "well done." his salmon tongue rocked back and forth between his jowls that hung loosely opened, blood spilling from them. his eyes gauge at his sisters shoulder then, his face emotionless as if they did not just maim an animal wanting to hide from the cold, to death. "How badly did it get you?" his eyes continued to skim over his littermate's body. she was masculine for a female, huge and packed with muscle that belonged to the average man. she was as tall as him-, remembering their mother suffered greatly for their sizes during birth. "We need to find clean water and clean our wounds. I know some herbal medicines." he spoke with a deep voice. "έρχομαι(come on)." he swiftly turned around to lead them to the nearest body of water, his eyes vigilant and watchful. they'd no doubt need to find another camp site. covered in blood, more would venture there out of curiosity & hunger no doubt.

Ellara Praetor

Enyo's silver-blue eyes glimmered in the moonlight, the cold air biting at her thick pelt. The night was calm, save for the blood now seeping into the earth beneath her paws. Her chest heaved, the taste of copper sharp on her tongue as she stepped back from the now motionless jaguar, its life snuffed out by the siblings’. She turned her head slightly, catching Erebros’ gaze as he panted, blood dripping from his maw, his approval hanging in the air.

Well done.

The words fed something deep inside her, but it was a fleeting satisfaction. The rush of battle still coursed through her veins, and though she reveled in their victory, her eyes remained locked on the carnage before them. "How badly did it get you?" Érebros asked.

Enyo snorted, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face as she shifted her weight, testing the pull of a gash along her flank. It was a bunch of "superficial" wounds. Nothing that would slow her. Her pride, however, was not so easily soothed. "Hardly worth mentioning," she replied, her voice velvety, though the edge of irritation was unmistakable. "A weak creature, desperate and careless. It didn’t stand a chance."

She glanced down at the jaguar’s mangled remains, a savage satisfaction curling her lips. The hunt had been swift, and brutal...just as it should be. Yet, as always, her mind wandered to the echoes of her past. To the cold hardship they had survived as children, forced to prove their worth over and over again. There was no room for weakness then, and there was none now. Not in her. Not in Erebros.

Her eyes hardened as her brother suggested they find clean water. The lingering taste of battle made her hungry for more, but she knew he was right. They couldn’t stay here, not with the scent of blood hanging so thick in the air. "Fine," she muttered, her voice low, laced with begrudging agreement. "Lead the way."

Enyo lingered for just a moment longer, her gaze sweeping over the makeshift den that had been violated by the jaguar’s presence. Her lips curled in distaste before following her brother. Falling into step beside him, Enyo remained silent, though her thoughts churned. Erebros had always been the leader, the patriarch of their family. A man born into power in his position. Enyo would prove her worth, again and again, until there was no question. Until her strength and power were undeniable, no matter her sex. Would her younger siblings be able to do what she did? Even with Erebros by their side, would they be able to operate under such brutal efficiency? She knew the answer.

She glanced at him, her eye catching his profile as they moved through the tangled vines. He was formidable, yes- but so was she. Although she loved Erebros, perhaps more than the others. She longed to be seen as her own, revered as a separate entity. And one day, she would be remembered not as the sister of the patriarch, but as Enyo, the warrior who surpassed them all.
