nothing like camping at the end of the world

The sun had long since set, but the sky was still red. Not quite as bright or vivid as before, but unnatural all the same. Accented with an angry looking full moon, felt like an eye staring down at him as he padded to the water's edge and took a much-needed drink. Gulping down mouthfuls, he raised his head slightly out of breath as droplets fell from his snout, creating ripples on the otherwise calm oasis surface. Aside from the fact that it was a nasty red as it reflected the sky above, made him half expect the water to taste sour like blood.
He knew that wolves were no doubt out and about exploring, trying to wrap their minds around what was happening here, but from what he could tell no real show of force had been mustered. What could they even do? Snarling in the face of uncertainty wasn't likely to get anyone anywhere. His gaze flitted down to the ripples as, a deep, groaning shudder rippled through the earth once more. The quakes were getting all the more frequent these days, for all that he knew Ronan didn't have an explanation for this.
Water sloshed against his paws, dampening the sand as he drew away from the waterside. Deserts could get awfully cold overnight and so he went about putting together a fire to keep the worst of it at bay. Using his jaguar claws, he ripped at a palm tree and tore off some bark to use as kindling before gathering fallen leaves. Fire starting was not as easy as he'd like, involved more curses and swearing than it out to, but soon enough he was laying beside the fire. Close enough to feel its warmth, the orange glow a sharp contrast against the glowing red of his coat. Were it not for...everything else, this might have been quite nice.

It has been ages since she had ever gone to Boreas, the sister continent to Auster. And for quite the bit of time she wanted to explore it. Getting to know of the biggest of the two pieces of land that made up her world.
The nocturnal cold breeze flew over the deserts sands. The coldness always the stark contrast to the blazing heat of the day. A thing she was just starting to learn about, but it was better now than never. Nova made her way as she smelled water in the wind. Slowly she followed after it, until she spotted glowing. From fire. Eyes narrowed she approached finding a fireplace near the water, and a wolf in there. Quietly she when to drink water, at a a safe distance from the male. Paying attention but not showing any fear.
