Tachi had heard a new koi lady had joined the fold. She was one of them, that was undeniable all it took was one look at her. But did she really deserve to hang around with them though? In Tachi's mind he figured he ought to test her, challenge her to a spar and see how she fared. Was she one of those dainty ladies who glided on the ground but could barely hold their own? Or was she tougher than she seemed?
Standing within the training square of the maze, hidden deep within the corridors and shadows, he tipped his head back and called out for Kiriko. He'd be slightly impressed if she managed to actually get here in a timely manner without getting lost, but since he'd lived here his whole life he knew it like the back of his paw. Didn't even need to stop and think about where he wanted to go, just pressed on with the certainty of an Archer.

let's stick together just a little bit longer It's true, she's one of them. One of them, one of those among the koi. Honestly, she was grateful to be one of many instead of one of a particular sort. There was an anonymity about it. The koi here seemed to mostly be lumped together, and in that, there is safety. The days began to tick by, and Kiriko was starting to settle in. Starting to become accustomed to how life was lived here. Starting to grow used to the maze, and all its twists and turns. And it was the maze that called to her now, or at least someone within it. One of the teenage boys, with names she couldn't quite remember. There were many of the yearlings, and they seemed to be in and out without much heed paid to time of day or from where they'd arrived. He was calling from within the maze, some far section. Taking a moment to still herself within the bamboo, she scented the air and gave herself a moment to track down the source of the scent. Right. Following her nose, she sought out the yearling. "Can I help you with something?" Kiriko's tone was soft, assessing the boy and trying to pin down exactly why he'd called her here. Ruby gaze curious upon his face. Wondering. |

"I heard you're a healer, from the Homeland." Tachi pointed out, cause she certainly looked like one. Far more than he did anyway, with his koi roots hiding behind his Grandma's genetics. "What's the easiest way to hurt someone real bad? Just curious." He had no desire to try out what he might learn on anyone in Tojo, he was curious really. And as far as he was concerned, a good healer would know how to hurt too, right? Mending and wounding went paw in paw."In the raid, everyone all went for the real obvious options. If we have to fight again I wanna take them by surprise."

let's stick together just a little bit longer The boy had called her down here to ask a question, but it's a reasonable question in her mind. Kiriko nodded, confirming what he'd heard. She was a healer, she was from the homeland. "I am, I'm Kiriko." A polite introduction. Though the boy didn't look all-together koi, she knows better than to judge a book by its cover. She thinks on his question for a long moment. "Real bad can mean different things," she begins. "The wounds that will cause the most pain, and the wounds that will cause the most difficult to repair damage are different." The words are gentle, measured, despite the grim subject matter. "It's important to know which you're going for before you're face to face with your opponent." Kiriko waits, now, for his answer. They were two different conversations, though both carried a heavy weight. Her gaze was steady on the yearling, considering his reaction as she spoke. |

Tachi supposed she had a point, that real bad wasn't quite as simple as he'd first thought. What sort of damage did he want to inflict? He didn't really care about how difficult it would be to fix, he supposed, his beef would be with whoever he had fought, not the healer who had to deal with the aftermath. But at the same time, being difficult all around did bring a smile to his face. As an Archer he had a natural penchant to be a thorn in peoples sides, so both did sound good now he thought about it a little deeper.
He didn't want to maim his way across Boreas and Auster, he wasn't a monster, it was just good to know things. Just in case anyone made an enemy of Tojo.
"Out of the two...Well, if someone wrongs us I think it's only right I hurt them so badly they'd think twice before even thinking of returning."

let's stick together just a little bit longer Kiriko's words carry a certain seriousness as she speaks with the yearling. He had come to her with an important question, one that she really did need to answer with a degree of care. Sure, he's a boy-- a year old. Wet behind the ears, inexperienced in the ways of the world. The information that Kiriko provided him would be matter of fact, and complete to the best of her knowledge. She wouldn't mislead him, and maybe that's why her tone is judge-serious, with an expression to match. In these moments she lacks some of her usual softness. "Think about the areas that you are the most sensitive-- particularly, the muzzle. They are the places where we feel the most, so they will hurt the most when you attack them." Kiriko begins, thinking through her words as she speaks. "If you carve open as much of the surface area as you can, it will maximize the damage you do. It's not likely they'll be life threatening, but they'll hurt and continue hurting as they heal." She watches Tachi carefully, curious about what his reaction may be. "Does that answer your question?" Did he have more questions for her? Kiriko is keen, engaged with the boy. |
