Kashi ran nearly into a wall of bamboo, turned, narrowly avoided another wall, turned, skidded to a stop at a dead end, back tracked, kept running, turned some more, and the rest was a blur. Eventually he came to another dead end. It felt like the 80th dead end he had found. He couldn't hear the fighting anymore which either meant he was far enough away that he couldn't hear it, or that he had wasted so much time the fighting was already over. It didn't seem like the crazy lady was following him, however, so he sunk to his haunches in the corner of the dead end of the maze exhausted and out of breath.

There was someone here who didn't belong. Perhaps a Pirate who hoped to pillage whilst everyone was distracted? Either way it didn't matter much to the Kaicho as their aimless wandering made it clear they had no idea where they were going, that they wouldn't get anywhere at this rate. This way and that, they retraced their steps only to venture off into a disused storage space, only to get confused and end up walking in a wide circle. Hattori almost pitied them, could see the depth of their paw prints, how their pace had dramatically slowed.

That he was getting closer.

He found them, whoever they were, hunched over as they gasped for air. His coat was splotchy and dappled, looking remarkably similar to a wolf he didn't like very much. And yet he was tall and muscled, reeked like a Pirate-naturally- and clearly had all the wits of one too.

Koi or not he had broken a rule Hattori took most seriously, one he couldn't just let slide. But what to do with him? Hattori was unsure, pale brows furrowed as he thought about it, stepping closer till he had the Pirate cornered. His back to the bamboo walls that surrounded this dead end.

"What made you think coming here was wise?" He asked, a voice a deep rumble in his throat. Displeasure evident in his narrowed squinty eyes.

Kashi POV of Tori:


Wallowing in his own pit of misery, while somewhat satisfying and self-serving, did no good for the poor lost boy. He was so involved in his own self pitying, he didn't really hear or care when the large man approached. When he finally looked up, eyes all bleary and sad, he was the very pointy, squinty-eyed man peering down his too-long snoot at him. She asked what made him think coming here was wise and Kashi failed to hold back a hiccupped sob, "What makes anything wise, huh?" His retort was weak, but he didn't care, he was sad god damnit! "If you're gonna kill me, just hurry up anyways." He said, trying to look very sad and obviously not worth killing.

Tori POV of Kashi:

Hm. Hattori supposed anyone with even a modicum of sense wouldn't join the pirates. His nose wrinkled at the frankly pitiful display, all wallowing and wobbly words that made his grimace grow. The boy frankly had an annoying air about him, a vibe Hattori just couldn't appreciate even if he wanted to. But regardless of how lowly this one was, the rules were broken and he had made his way far too deeply into the bamboo than Hattori could tolerate. Furyo he would become whether he liked it or not.

Hattori gave him a look, gaze silver with a sheen of you're not even worth killing. The same way he didn't spend his day squashing any and all bugs he came across.

"Stop that. You have trespassed and will be treated accordingly, but I have little interest in killing you."
