He'd done it. He'd ascended. Víðarr had taken control, and he'd won the rights-- that's what mattered. He'd won Tenshi her mountain, and he'd pleased the gods. This was all he'd been working for, and there was still far more work to do. Everything until now had been easy. It would only get more difficult, it would only get more complex from here. There was also the question of the blank check still hanging over his head.

It's with intent to sort out exactly what that entails hanging over his head, that Víðarr turned to the south. Leaving his mountain in more than capable hands for a little while. He needed to speak with Hattori, he needed to hash out terms. Many of the things that had been up in the air before, no longer were. With renewed resolve, the shadow moved to the edge of the bamboo once more. It seemed like he was spending far too much time down here, far more than he'd like. The air was sticky, and growing warm. Gross. He's not sure how anyone can live like this, but more power to them.

Tipping his head back and calling for the Kaicho, Víðarr stands and waits. Now that the uncertainty has cleared, he would like to sort out terms.

Hattori was not expecting to see the Viking again so soon. And though he was not exactly a people person even at the best of times, he sensed that things had worked out favourably for the dark wolf. He heard it in the tone of his howl, low and deep, like billowing northern winds. A sound that by its very nature did not belong here, did not fit in with the climate and feeling of this place. Vðarr was an outsider, but not entirely unwelcome.

Hattori emerged from the bamboo thicket, gaze silver and sharp, wanting to know more sooner rather than later. Silence settled for a moment, neither men could hardly be called talkative at the best of times. From what Hattori saw the man had no injuries to speak of, none that weren't bruises hidden beneath fur at least. But he truly did seem out of place here, somewhat out of sorts, clearly uncomfortable in this weather.

By the gods, how was it so humid here already? The warmth, the damp air, he could feel the damp where it settled on his coat and in his lungs. Víðarr makes it no secret, he's less than pleased with the very feel of it in his system. The fishman seemed to like it well enough, and the viking could not fathom why.

At least Hattori didn't keep him waiting long. He appeared, greeting stiff, though not unkind. Silence settles between them, though they'd likely both rather get through this meeting. "Hattori." It's a familiarity, this time. Víðarr respected him, though he's made his missteps in the relationship. "I have settled my pack, Heiðinn, in the north east. Fenrir's Maw." The challenge had come and gone without much fanfare. Spectatorship had been low, something that Víðarr would use to his advantage. He had control over the narrative, how the others would learn his name. How the others would see the viking and his hordes for the first time.

"I would like to discuss settling my debts, and moving forward." Víðarr speaks plainly, directly. His icy gaze remained steady on Hattori, assessing as he did. His tone is metered and neutral. Politics was never his strong suit, but he's doing what he can now.

It was settled then, good. If nothing else the Viking tended to his business quickly, didn't leave it festering for too long, didn't run the risk of having it rot from within. Hattori had been thinking about what he expected in return, because he understood that not specifying what he wanted left a gaping void in their wake. What ifs and possibilities, a shadow looming over Víðarr shoulders, and though Hattori could not say he was pleased he was not so petty that he intended to use this as a stick to beat the other man with. That would require effort Hattori did not wish to expend, if nothing else.

"Your effort is noted, you have travelled far." If nothing Hattori could appreciate the fact it was a long walk and that the Viking clearly did not belong in such a climate. Hattori wondered what the Viking had in mind, if he had any counteroffers, something to help smoothen over relations, other than the drinks he had brought last time. "And what is it you wish to say?"

He is tense, uncomfortable. Well, most of the discomfort is the heat, but it's hard to hold that against him. There's a reason he's chosen to settle the harsh, cold mountain. At least it seems the effort hasn't escaped Hattori. Víðarr dipped his muzzle respectfully, though his expression remained one of carefully composed neutrality. Politics were never his strong suit, but he has to try.

After taking a moment to collect his thoughts, the viking king began to speak. "I have a proposal that I believe would settle the debt, and benefit both of us in the long term." Víðarr watched Hattori's face carefully as he spoke. "Tenshi and I will be expecting pups within the year. I would like to offer the marriage of one of my daughters to one of your sons, when they are of age." The shadow is confident in his offer. He would be replacing what he'd taken, in a way. It would be a combination of two powerful and dangerous bloodlines, and solidify what Víðarr could hope would be a good relationship moving forward.

Times were changing. Víðarr could feel it in his bones. Shifting tides, and something strange on the winds... this is important. Perhaps now more than ever.

Víðarr's offer was a strong one, clearly not a half measure meant to placate the Kaicho as they both knew such a lacklustre effort would not have worked. Víðarr was effectively putting his own blood on the line, offering the most valuable asset a wolf like him had, his legacy. Hattori made a deep noise in the base of his throat, a sound of acknowledgement, that he truly knew what this meant. As of right now Hattori did not have any suitable sons or heirs in mind, for as harsh as it sounded he had in essence written off Kuroki and Takashi. Kuroki was...himself and Takashi did not seem to have what it took to lead, kept to himself too much and simply did not have the drive for it. And even if he asked that of his sons, he did not think they would be interested. He was many things-including disappointed in how they had turned out- but he would not force them into this. It went against his own and their interests.

It did bring up a point though, as things stood Tojo was unstable and uncertain in this regard. Should he fall for any reason, who would take his place? Certainly not his cousin, though perhaps one of his sons would be capable of it one day as he was too young as of now. Hattori knew this was something he had to consider, more seriously at least than he had done before.

"I accept the offer." Though there would be logistics to explore and have set in stone. Does Tenshi know?"
