Tethys wasn't feeling so well.
It happened slowly at first, and felt no different than a common cold. Not that she got sick often at all - living in the north tended to breed strong immune systems, no doubt strengthened by the rise and fall of temperatures with the seasonal changes - but at first it hadn't felt like much of anything.
Just a few days ago she'd awoken with a start, feeling unusually hot. The early morning was cool at best, but she felt an unmistakable heat gripping her and she began panting before she even managed to sit upright. Strange, but not anything worth panicking over. She could fight off a cold without issue.
Not the type to lie around and wait to get better, she was determined to push through. Occasionally the fever that initially gripped her would subside, only to return again, accompanied by other general feelings of malady; her body ached in a way she wasn't quite used to, but she was far too stubborn to seek help for it. She'd be fine, she was fine, just fighting off some kind of sickness... right?
That wasn't the only thing wrong though.
At first she thought maybe she was just being paranoid, but it became quickly obvious as the day went on that she wasn't - or so her mind, riddled with sickness, thought. She was being followed. Had been for the better part of the day, as she made her patrol across the col, each step growing more and more tiring than the last. God, her muscles ached, in the deep sort of way like after a good fight or hunt. Only she hadn't been doing much of either these last few days, and certainly not today...
Every time she turned her head she saw them. One wolf, or maybe two? Or was it three? Black, looming shadows, everywhere in her peripheral vision. Somehow they evaded her attention no matter how fast she turned to find them, and somehow they kept up her pace as she quickly turned and hightailed it back to the pack's common area. Feeling panic begin to rise up in her, she stumbled into the large field where the obelisk stood, and let loose a call for help. They were being invaded, there was no question about it - someone, a group of someones, had infiltrated the Armada and no one was safe.

Ollie started for the clinic, his mind racing. He had just left Bas, Wilder and... What's her name? Yara? Yes, She knew about diseases, good, whomever he sends in there he'll tell them to talk to and relay the information. He had just left them at the edge of the forest, instating a quarantine. They'll need to use the old medicine den for any serious cases below the treehouse. If there are too many sick they'll need to close off a portion of the warrens and make that the quarantine.
Just as he was about to disappear into the warrens a howl entered the sky and he looked wildly about for the owner of the call. Tethys! She was stumbling about close to the Obelisk!
He bounded toward her, keep your head Ollie, you can do this.
"Tethys! What's wrong?" He called out to her. Something told him to stay back. He kept his distance of five paces.

Oblivious as to what was going on, Tethys could only react to what was going on in her own mind. Though she did tend toward being a bit paranoid and distrusting of others, this full-blown fear was hardly what anyone who knew her would call typical of her. She couldn't begin to fathom how strange she was acting though - it felt like a perfectly reasonable response to a threat that seemed so very real. Even as Oleander approached, she could see them, lurking in the shadows behind him and all around them. Their eyes were piercing, even from such a great distance, as they watched the two of them.
The fear that bloomed in her chest, full-strength now, was impossible to ignore. No, it wasn't just that, but it was threatening to overtake her entirely. The fact that Oleander didn't seem quite so panicked was unsettling, shaking her up even further. "We've been infiltrated," she managed to choke out, her chest still heaving from the exertion of running through the mountain range. "They're here - we're not safe!"
Tethys swung around gesturing wildly toward the treeline. "We need to gather our warriors - we need to-" The world around her started to sway, and she tried to steady herself. All the blood seemed to drain from her head and she felt everything beginning to grow hazy. "I don't.. feel so well," she breathed after a moment, sinking back on her haunches and trying to steady herself.

At first, Oleander was alarmed and looked around to spy what she was seeing but with each breath, it became abundantly clear... She was seeing things. He avoided her as she swung around, delirious over the invisible infiltrators.
"Woooah there." He said stepping forward and offering her a shoulder as she swayed. She felt hot, feverish. Was this from the blight they just discovered or something else?
"Okay Tethys, we'll handle them. We- we-- weuh- I'll get someone to get em. You need some medicine. c'mon, tell me, when you first didn't feel so well?" He asked unsteadily. He tried to lead her down the Col toward the woods but made it as if he was going to lead her into the warrens by that entrance closest to the woods. Maybe he can keep patients in that part of the Warrens. Keep them separate from anyone else... Or would the warrens infect the rest of the col? Maybe they can make some shelters out along the woodline.

Even then, it didn't quite strike Tethys that she might be truly unwell. Colds were nothing to worry about, not unless you were very young or very old, or suffered from some other kind of ailments that might make recovery slow. She'd fight this off and be just fine. Now, the intruders were what really concerned her - and it was even more distressing that Oleander wasn't reacting in the same panicked manner. They needed to sound the alarm, and fast! Everyone needed to come together, to protect their young, to...
Though she swayed, he stepped forward and she felt her weight leaning on him, relieved to not hit the ground. She'd just run here too quickly and needed to rest. That was all. But she couldn't rest! Her eyes flashed open, widening in fear. She didn't need medicine, not when they were being overrun!
But she felt suddenly weak, too tired to protest. Someone else had surely heard her call too and was coming to investigate. They'd ward off the infiltrators. The Armada was too strong to be taken down so easily.
"I... don't know...." she started, taking in a sharp breath of air. She followed him, complying despite not knowing where he was taking her. "Maybe a few days ago. Started to feel a little under the weather. Like a cold, I guess." Another step and she found herself swaying again, the world growing hazy before her. She tried to lean hard into Oleander, most of her weight abruptly falling against him.

His cousin was slightly larger than him in a few ways, but he knew how to hold his ground. Halucinating. He had just come from the meeting where they found blight.
"Listen Tethys, I think you're hallucinating. But we can fix that! I promise the Armada is okay. I don't see any intruders. I know they look real!" He said letting her lean and falter as he guided her. "I promise we're safe. I just need to know all the symptoms you're experiencing. Did you eat something a few days ago before you were feeling sick?" He was closer to the woods now and he still hadn't made a decision on where to put her. If he thought about it a couple of the dens inside the warren here had two little offshoots. Or even just have patients in the dens closest to the exit? Hmmm... He needed to get her to the healer's den under the treehouse. That would be the best place.

Hallucinating... the words didn't seem to really register in her mind. Her senses were dulled, barely registering her surroundings. As she felt herself begin to sway she tried to ground herself as best as she could. Her gaze darted up to Oleander, and then back to the ground. She was in the Col. The ground was steady beneath her paws, solid. Everything else she tried to grasp onto seemed to slip right out from beneath her paws. No intruders, Oleander said, but there were...
She focused on just trying to move and stay upright on her paws, trusting Oleander to lead the way. "No. Nothing... strange. Meat, from the storeroom. Deer," she managed to get out, panting all the while. "Some squirrels. Rabbit." Her mind was racing but she couldn't quite keep up with her thoughts, certainly not enough to spit them out coherently. She was panting even from the small distance they'd walked, wobbling again as she fought to keep herself from falling as they continued on.
