Norad

Guard your heart, protect your peace, know your worth.

Norad is a pack that seeks to protect and better the world, be it through providing a home for those that need it, fighting for those that cannot, or providing their crafting goods to those outside their own pack. We do not seek to hunt down and fight the negatives of the world, but rather promote a mindset of standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. All are welcome here though Norad tends to fall under a Lawful Neutral alignment.

General Rules

  • Respect is a key in this pack. While the Artifex understands not everyone will get along they ask that you still respect each other's differences. If you must fight to settle your differences you are to under no circumstances maim one another.
  • Norad wolves are expected to uphold the packs values and pull their own weight. We don't expect you to be the most active, but we will expect to be seeing at least a post a week from each of the members here.
  • The wolves of Norad are here to protect the denizens and lands of Ardent, that being said the Artifex expects you to use sense and reason. You are not to go around maiming and harming others without a just reason. Breaking this law could cause expulsion or imprisonment.
  • Norad welcomes all regardless of lineage, history and alignment. So long as the intentions are good and just the Artifex welcomes all.
  • Reproduction is not allowed without permission from the Artifex. Those that fall pregnant without the consent of the Artifex will be subject to explement from the pack. There are very few exceptions to this rule.
  • The Artifex's word is law and they reserve the right for final say so in the pack.
  • To harm those considered packmates, allies, or guests of Norad is to commit treason. Treasonous actions such as these will be met with either expelment or in a very rare case will be imprisoned while the Artifex determines what to do with the perpetrator.
  • Rape and abuse are not tolerated, whatsoever. The Artifex will personally deal with those that break this law.
  • While the Artifex is a forgiving soul, do not expect them to apologize for you. Causing trouble with other packs is discouraged. Should you cause trouble, the Artifex will not bail you out and will expect you to pay the price for doing so. You do the crime you do the time.
  • Ceremonies and Festivals

  • Matrimonial Ceremony - a wedding ceremony! One of the happiest times, aside from New life celebrations. There is a three day long celebration held in honor of the happy couple, it begins with a small congratulatory party held for the couple. Typically the couple is kept separate for this. On the second day is the ceremony for the couple where they will be officially wed. The Artifex will tie their front paws together with a ceremonial ribbon before vows and promises will be given. This can either be a public ceremony or a private one, by choice of the couple. On the eve of the ceremony a big party will be held, allies and friends of Norad are welcome to join the pack in celebration of the couple. It is customary for gifts to be brought to a pile for the couple. A bonfire will be made in the center of the village, drinking singing, dancing, and stories might be told. All are welcome to enjoy wines and foods. This will usually end with a toast or a feast for the couple.
  • New life celebration - a celebration to honor New life being brought into the world! Usually will take place about a week before a female is due. There are games played, such as a guessing game to guess how many babies will be born. No alcohol will be served here, and males will be shooed off, usually. A small lunch is usually served before its ended. Allies and friends may attend by invitation of the mother to be. Gifts are not customary but are welcome for the soon to be mother.
  • Craft fair - a market style festival held every summer in the village, all are welcome to display wares in a stall and buy and trade for wares from others. Allies and friends are welcome to attend as well as to have their own stall set up. There's usually food stalls and drink stalls as well. The Artifex welcomes and encourages wolves of Norad to display their wares and crafts for our allies to peruse and barter for. Stalls are limited to a large animal sized pelt. Depending on how the year has been there may even be excess livestock for trade at the Artifex's home.

    Our trades and Livestock

  • Fish traps and baskets - sturdy traps and baskets weaved from reeds and rivercane. These are something Bellatrix learned how to make during an outing before she became Artifex from Coran.
  • Armors - made from thick leathers, and sometimes embedded with metals. They come in vest styles, pauldron styles, gauntlets and helmets. They are held together with leather ties and molded with care to fit most wolves.
  • Smoked meats - made in the smokehouse and something Bellatrix figured out from a member of former Norad. Meats are usually packed heavily with salt and clay to cure for two to three days. After which discoloration will be carefully cut away to preserve color and taste. The meat will then be smoked for a day using wood chips soaked and carefully placed in the smoke house's pit.
  • Quail- a small flock of quail used for their eggs and down when they shed it.
  • Muscovy Ducks- starting as a pair Bellatrix caught from the wild these are prized to Trixy for their eggs and are not to be eaten.
  • Pygmy Hogs- A trio of small hogs prized for their use as fertilizer production and being bred to become a small sounder.
